  2. Yep, S is just HIK OEM - nothing ammis, and not bad cams. My suggestion would be to NOT run them through the NVR if you want better motion triggers etc inside a C4 system, but feed them to a PoE switch, reset the NVR to do it that way and indeed use the Chowmain HIK driver - it'll be well worth it's small investment
  3. I am excited to say that my dealer is updating me now. Does anyone know what updates OS3.4.2 contains?
  4. Today
  5. Sounds like he has it set to use as a 2 button keypad which is all it should need?
  6. Speaking of Ubiquiti - they just released the new Dream Machine Pro Max https://9to5mac.com/2024/04/23/dream-machine-pro-max/
  7. This was my first stop when trying to integrate the C4 doorbells with Unifi Protect, but the result I came to was that it only worked on older versions of Unifi Protect, and it no longer works on the updated versions.
  8. so far the only solution I have found is to log into OVRC, find the router or WAP you're trying to connect to, hit the 3 dots and then select web connect. I am able to access the GUIs that way
  9. Do we know how much C4 represents of Snap One's revenue? SnapOne's sales went from $591M in 2019 to 814M in 2020 and 1008M in 2021. C4's revenue from 2016-2018 was $208M, $244M and $273M - it was a separate public company at this time so its financial statements are public. So it seems to me that C4 would have been about 30% of Snap One revenue, allowing for a bit of growth
  10. Pretty sure I never quoted you a price on anything...
  11. Do agree with UniFi being a closed system, but have you tried this? https://github.com/keshavdv/unifi-cam-proxy?tab=readme-ov-file#readme or https://pypi.org/project/unifi-cam-proxy/
  12. Updates to Agent Variables, now supports Setting variables as 'read only' in the driver, so users can view the values but not change them (if you want). We are also working on the driver suggest above, that will allow viewing any variable in the one UI (from all devices). Due to the complexity of setting up and selecting all of these variables we are also developing an 'Admin' UI, for configuring everything within the driver.
  13. @Cyknight it was posted further up thread that @msgreenfmentioned he uses the AV Edge Pro product, but I only need 2 channel return sound for the 2.0 inch ceiling speakers located in the keeping room off of the kitchen, rear porch and master bedroom (my two 7.1 and one 7.1.2 zones are powered by AV receivers). I’m not considering the $10 Amazon option, as the Cat5e cable was roughed in during construction 10 years ago by my former C4 dealer from the TV locations back to the C4 rack (original thought was distributed video, but this was prior to steaming). It appears that the J Tech product is a newer to market that is powered by USB C rather than DC/5 V, as I have a support ticket into J Tech if a AC outlet with 2 USB C ports is adequate to power the J Tech audio extender. Yes, it’s pseudo DIY as I’ve chosen to go the remote C4 dealer/programer route for the TV sound, but the speakers are programmed already into my C4 system for streamer music services out.
  14. As you discovered, they are rebadged Hikvision 8MP cams. Spec sheet here, and a variant of the DS-2CD2383G2 with near-identical specification. If they have an NVR, you can use their IVMS software to connect to it, manage the cameras and control playback. If you are relying on the onboard SD card for footage then you will have a few additional hurdles to overcome for the same result. They're perfectly reasonable cameras from mid-2022 iirc. For integration, you'd want the Chowmain driver for the full functionality. The standard C4 drivers do work but it is limited, dated and a lot more thought went into the third-party alternative.
  15. In composer there is an option to disconnect buttons which means you can use as a 2 button keypad
  16. That eliminates this as a option for anyone wanting the full 18gbps for 4k/HDR/60fps, let alone the 48 gbps I and many use for 4k/HDR/120fps out of my Envy. Thanks anyway for the information.
  17. I have a C4 adaptive phase dimmer connected to a hue downlight. I want the dimmer to maintain power to the load when the dimmer is in the off position so the hue bulb stays active. My question is: is there a software setting that can do this or do I need to wire the dimmer accordingly? Right now, the dimmer continues to control the load despite what seems like the logical settings: physically the dimmer is wired as normal with the load wire of the dimmer able to control power to that light. In Composer HE, I have the dimmer properties set so "buttons control load" is not selected and "use as a 2 button keypad" is selected. In programming, pushing the top of the dimmer activates an advanced lighting scene that controls the bulb and pushing the bottom of the dimmer toggles that advanced lighting scene. Have I misconfigured things on my end or is there a setting maybe in Composer Pro in connections that can divorce the button press from the load to maintain power? Or is this not possible and I need to just physically remove the load wire from the dimmer and connect it to the line wire so it always has power.......
  18. I want to control a Samsung Flip Pro WM85b with my Core 3. Does anyone know if there is an existing driver for this case? Thanks
  19. Here're the answers from the manufacturer: maximum bandwidth supported is 10.2Gbps, this type is uncompressed; signal is lossless + unit price (ex VAT): 245,00 EUR

    Neeo brain

Hello, Does anyone have a neeo brain for sale? thanks.
  21. Ok, I managed to figure out the model of the cameras. They're SC-328GY-XD-2.8MM. Edit: I can’t actually locate any information about this specific model. Thank you again for the help, I know nothing about hardware haha.
  22. Reason why Snap One launched Control 4 assist and assist premium to drive additional RMR from service contracts.
  23. How does the DoorBird field of view compare to the Chime? I currently have a 1st generation Door Station. Has anyone come up with a fabrication to flush mount the Chime within the DS rough in back box?
  24. Thank you for the input! I've checked out Luma and so far it looks like it checks all the boxes. And appreciate the intel on Clare's alarm panel--it's something we've been weighing among the options for our security system as well. I'd love to keep the old system if we can make it work. So far I've been able to learn out that our NVR model is SC-32P4-4C, if that tells you anything. The security cameras would've been installed no longer than 1.5 years ago, so I would hope they're not a super old model. Am yet to figure out what the exact camera models are though, waiting on a spare ethernet cable to arrive so I can connect to the NVR.
  25. Not quite. While the bridge closes a few gaps between the x10 and x20 cameras, it (potentially) does so much more, and does more with X20 cams than x10's. If you want x20 capability, get x20 cameras, don't think the bridge is some sort of upgrade path to make X10 into x20. Yes they are reliable as such but I'd stick with HIK or perhaps go Luma or Uniview on camera change. If wanting to keep old cams, Uniview has good options for smart notifications etc in their NVRS, a better app than HIK and should be able to integrate the old cams just fine. Current HIK NVRS aren't terrible in their smart work, but I can't say how well or poor your existing HIK cams are. If they're old 720p cameras, no smart NVR will fix that. Honestly, I'd be hesitant to suggest going Clare. It's not bad stuff at all, but it's alarm panel portion has been struggling to make headway, and if one falls..... Add that Snap has Luma as well as Clare so why keep both long term, and then add that Residio is looking to aquire Snap and is even more likely to keep only one (and Luma is more versatile).....
  26. Well your $10 are worthless from a dealer perspective. They may even work fine (though I doubt they work well) - if doing those you may as well just twist rca cables to cat5 leads directly, save yourself an RJ45 end too. $500 is a lot, but I don't use those, cant comment too much. Those do do SPDIF as well though, including passing through surround AND convert so not really a comparison to the $10 one you're linking. We use a different pro-only channel brand (GreenAudio) which off the top of my head price is something nearer to 250 US. Those can take either stereo, optical OR coax SPDIF and it'll output all three on the other end (if feeding stereo PCM, if surround analogue is disabled) similar to the one you linked from AV Pro. They're super universal so our install guys just carry them in stock in the vans - it's just not worth it from our perspective to carry several different options. If you're more DIY in your install deal with your dealer, it's your time to go through 10 sets of baluns from amazon (and thus your time to consider vs finding a cheap option). That's not a negative - just pointing out that there's a reason you can do things like this cheaper if you're willing to use your own time. Any way that is all going too far into the realm of discussing why installers of ANY kind don't carry 5 options for every possible scenario and thus why you may be able to find a cheap one-off option and make it work.
