  2. Glad to help. What you'll come to find from the wealth of data that comes with a C4 and pfSense combo (and if you use pfblockerNG) is a large world where devs use many different cloud-based systems not just to collect metrics but also to communicate back with their drivers to either provide improvements or upgrades/unlocks that you may have purchased. If you go down the blocking path, you may find you'll need to investigate each service in operation if in case you end up blocking one that causes a driver to default to its basic function. Some C4 services are purely telemetry (like the one you pointed out) but others do considerably more which could cause problems (such as to split.io). It's just the current state of play in the dev world.

  4. Hi Rav, any idea why I am not seeing the Kasa plug as a programmable smart home event in Alexa?
  5. Are there any camera drivers that allow you to set the preset names (that appear in the Control4 navigators) for a PTZ camera (so that one is not stuck with Preset 1, Preset 2 etc.). Ideally, this should be available as variables for programming against; however, setting the, in driver properties or importing them from the camera itself would also work. If there are any such drivers, does anyone know if there is one that works with Lilin IP cameras?
  6. One other side note: When disarming the alarm with the C4 app it disarms after the first attempt with the code; when using a T3 it can taking entering the code 4 or 5 times before the alarm is disarmed. Obviously using the alarm panel itself works after the first attempt. Any ideas?

  8. I have Mockupancy setup to manually start playback with arming alarm and stopping with alarm disarm. I did not tie mokupancy into the alarm at the driver level as I do not want it to record every time the alarm is disarmed. Couple issues I've run into. 1. I setup push notifications to notify me when playback has started. However there isn't an option to program when playback has stopped. 2. If we disarm the alarm using the alarm key panel the stop playback isn't firing. Only when alarm is disarmed using a t3 or phone app does it work properly. Just to clarify the programming- during the dates Jan 6th to 13th, April 6th to 13th... we don't allow mockupancy to playback with alarm arm as these are the recording weeks (based on season change) My Alarm panel is GE Networx Nx-8E & NX-4V2 Any ideas?
  9. Does anyone know if C4 would consider releasing the C4 app to be compatible with Android Auto and/or Apple Carplay @Darin, PM C4 CX Platform I would definitely use it
  10. The iOS team hasn't been able to get to testing of Apple Vision Pro yet due to higher priorities, but once they are able to give it a once over I would be happy to give you early access and get your feedback.
  11. You should be able to go into connections and make the single TV the video endpoint for each room. Then you are just setting the specific audio point for each room to be the Sonos for that room. I don’t have Sonos but I do this with my pool pavilion where sometimes I want the audio of the TV in it to play on the TV speakers and sometimes I want it over the pavilion speakers, but sometimes I want to play music over the pavilion speakers while the TV speakers is playing what’s on the TV. So I have two rooms. Pavilion and pavilion TV. I can’t control the one Tv from both rooms See pics below for two different rooms with the same video end point.
  12. Sonos Amps in Kitchen and Dining? How's TV controlled? IP, Serial, IR? (Serial and IR are easier to work with for what you want to do
  13. I think the issue lies in the programming rather than a bug. I may well be wrong though. Can you post screenshots of your programming?
  14. I have an open plan area which contains 3 rooms (TV area, dining and kitchen). There is one TV and it can be seen from all 3 of those rooms and I was hoping to make the TV available and controllable from each of those rooms. Each room has its own Sonos endpoint so when watching the TV in the kitchen, the sound would come through the speakers in kitchen, watching from the dining then it would be from those speakers and the TV area has the Sonos soundbar. With Sonos I can group speakers but how do I get the TV to appear and be controllable from each of the other 2 rooms. I have seen the Room Control driver being talked about so I am guessing that may help, but how would I set that up so you can press 'Watch TV' or something from the kitchen and it will turn on the TV in the TV area and the speakers in the kitchen. Ideally I would like to keep the 3 areas as separate rooms as they have their own audio space, lights, curtains etc. Thanks for any advice
  15. oh I have friends who raved about the demo. I am sure it has its place in life. For my job (sales/sales management), its not going to make my phone calls any more interesting and not sure if my CRM would work on it or the benefit of having my CRM in "virtual" display in front of me. And I am not a huge TV guy, I'll watch a ball game but rarely TV series, etc. I am sure there is a market for it. I mean when the iPod came out I was excited because I love music, so I immediately saw the use case (ok maybe it was some portable mp3 player like the Rio before the iPod) and I always had one by my side. with a VR headset, I just don't see it as much other than a "cool" factor but not a "practical" factor for me. And if something is just cool, I'll never buy Gen 1....
  16. Certainly not for everyone. I get that. But if you take the population that is spending six figures on home automation / home theater / computer control of their nightlights, you’re going to find a lot more Vision Pro users in there than in the general population. Not here to evalgelize— but, as an aside, you might want to get a demo— you might be surprised. A couple of guys from my C4 dealer team were here a few weeks ago and I gave them demos. One was “meh” but the other guy was like profoundly impressed. Anyway, the point of the post is to gently prod/beg C4 to please undo their opt-out so we can use the existing app. All the while knowing that this is a niche thing.
  17. I have a project I'm working on with 7 Apple TVs. On 2 of them, the Siri functionality works flawlessly through the Halo remote. It's responsive, accurate, and feels no different than using the actual Siri remote. On the rest of them, Siri will not work through the Halo remote. At all. Same firmware across the board, same network, same drivers, no functional difference between any of them. All of the HomeKit settings are as they should be, dictation and Siri settings are the same across the board as well. I have an escalation agent I'm working with later today but want to see if anyone else has found a tech-applicable solution to this, or even run into it at all. Thanks in advance!
  18. Thanks everyone. I ended up just spending more and buying another U7. There are a lot of times (every weekday morning, in fact), where I am sitting in my driveway waiting for my kids to take them to school. The WiFi has been weak there, making me switch off WiFi for LTE and then forgetting to switch it back on when I get home. So, I do want the garage AP to be on the same SSID for those times. Thanks again.
  19. that's fair but then again I am a luddite so i don't see myself wearing a mask all day for work. My 32'' computer screen can show me 2-3 windows/applications at a time. by the time I need to wear a mask all day for work I'll assume automation is at the point that I won't have to interact with it at all. Call that "Eggzlot's Law"
  20. Ha! I hear you. But the Vision Pro is not really about gaming or doing a discrete VR experience. It is geared toward extended use as your work/productivity environment. You have a browser window, a spreadsheets, messages window, mail window, Word, one showing your actually laptop’s screen, etc. all open at once. Anything you can do on your phone, iPad or computer, you can do inside Vision Pro. You guessed it, I’m using it right now to type this. Anyway, in that context, you can hopefully appreciate the desire to use all the app you are used to using— including C4. Absence of C4 app is honestly one of the significant gaps for me. And, just to reiterate, Vision Pro runs ALL iPhone and iPad apps by default (in additional to native apps, of course). If developers don’t opt-out, that is. C4 has opted out— for legitimate testing purposes to ensure good experience. I do have some voice controls set-up, but I still use the C4 app for some stuff.
