Problem with Event Filter in Navigators
DLite replied to DLite's topic in General Control4 Discussion
No, it is still not working for me. I just checked on iOS and confirm that one of my cameras has a visible event on Monday, but it doesn't show up in the filter for the last 7 days. Thanks -
Has anybody had any success controlling the Lyngdorf TDAI 2170? Lyngdorf have a serial .c4i driver downloadable from their website. This allows some control (power on, volume up/down, mute toggle, preset filters) but the power off and HDMI commands do nothing. Weirdly when I tried the serial driver for a different Lyngdorf model (TDAI 3400) the HDMI commands do work but no power commands or preset filer commands work. The info notes for the driver say it is developed by Janus, they no longer list it and the driver is encrypted to stop editing in DriverEditor. Any help would be much appreciated.

12V to USB C works, although this is a bit bulky, I tried it with a PC supply, worked fine: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DGDQ48H And of course, you can get them for a lot cheaper if you want to wait from Aliexpress... https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805320583139.html RyanE

Dang, that's a long wait. I'll forward this to the Android team and ask them if they can get logs sooner.

I'm told that OS 3.4.2 will be released at the end of this month. But, if you'd like to test it sooner, you can contact your dealer to get on the beta.

QLOGIC replied to Matrix's topic in Troubleshooting, Workarounds, & Bugs
Yes they are POE, We have found no real solution, and my DNS and everything is 8.8.8.8, and running all Unifi currently. I installed 1 g4 pro door bell and no delays and no missed calls. only thing is there is no intercom on the T4's but I have the doorbell push pop up the camera, so can see but just can't talk to the person via the T4 -

I would not recommend using anything other than Control4 keypads, or a Control4 touchscreen. The Control4 keypads are modern looking if you go with the Contemporary button style...I install them in many client homes that are worth 10+ Million and they are perfectly happy with them.

Thank you for the small note true

They don’t want to dilute their brand with having inexperienced companies selling their product. They realize people may have to learn the platform but they want them to know the business and have a solid business. i am in the US so can’t really help with other brands in the UK. I think you could probably look at Lutron or maybe Elan or RTI which may have easier requirements (Lutron not being a full blown automation system)

That’s what I suspect. My dealer, who is terrific, told me to check next time to see if I can control from the Sonos app when I can’t control from c4…. Smart to test that.
-
Possibly network loop if they're all hardwired
-
Yes I rebooted tv and Sonos at its<location, not the C4 controller. I did reboot the Halo remote as well. I checked to be sure my Sonos were showing up as wired on my network not wireless, and they did. A mystery so far…. Has been stable a few days.

Hi. I am fairly new to Control4 and currently building a house. I am installing a full C4 home automation system and I have been quoted for configurable keypads to be used every where. I wanted to know if there are any other smart control pads available that will work with the C4 system. I know one that works which is called Black Nova (https://blacknova.co/) These keypads look much more modern and was wondering if there were any other ones out there. Even if they touch screen control pads, that will be better and more modernised. Thanks

Seems abit silly that you have to be and established company to get training when most people want to use the training to become more established. Can anyone recommend any other home automation/installation/electrical courses in the UK that has helped them in this sort of thing?

Nothing new from C4 as far as I'm aware, not sure if there was a sonos update or not. What did you have to reboot to get it back? C4, The sonos pieces?

Did you ever find one? The one on vanco's website is for the BAV2500.

C4 is a dealer model - so any official training is blocked behind password protected websites. There is software end users can use called Composer home edition and a simple google search will show you some manuals. But that is basically scratching the surface and again doesn’t include all the things locked to end users that only dealers can do with the system.

Hi I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I have been searching for a practical hands on Control 4 training course in the UK. Where I can learn about the products available and also Installation and programming. I have been an AV engineer for over 10 years working on tempary and permanent installs. Now I want to push my own business and start to do more of my own work and would like to familiarise myself with Control 4. Could someone point me in the right direction of where the courses are available. Thanks

I ended up having to replace a ClimateMaster Tranquility 27 (circa 2009) with a ClimateMaster Tranquility 30 a little over a week ago. I didn't have C4 when I got the unit in 2009, but we had installed enough EWC Zoning Control boards to make it work with the C4 Thermostats. Now I'm wondering if I should have researched harder about how well C4 Thermostats work with this system and if there is a better solution than hooking the zones up to the UZC4 (and an auxiliary EWC board to get to my 6 zones). My Geo only seems to run about 40 minutes before it quits running even if the thermostats and EWC are calling for cooling. Not sure when my HVAC guy is going to make it out so I'm looking at the C4 side of things while I wait. There are very few threads on HVAC here, but has anybody done anything like this recently, especially mixing new Geo units with 10-15 year old tech from EWC and C4?

On a serious note, OP I have to agree with Andrew: it sounds like you may be over your head to begin with. It's not clear, but I assume you don't have access to ComposerPro and the DevTools. Without it you will never succeed, and getting that depends on Control4/Snap - not from whatever anyone on here can really tell you. From there, the fact that you're asking where to get the control hex codes for the device you're making a driver for indicates that you have the whole though process backwards. Those codes are provided by the device company: Control4 doesn't just make up codes at random for a device. And yes, if you think creating a two-way RS232 driver is a single (or two, three) page PDF explanation, then yes - find someone to do it for you. NOW if you are indeed a C4 dealer with Pro access, and all you're looking to do is a simple one-way serial control driver: well as along as you can get the codes from the manufacturer (note, Decimal, Hexadecimal and Ascii are all supported in writing a driver), as well as Baud rate, parity etc needed on their end, then the Composer built-in driver wizard makes it pretty simple to create a serial driver and the online user guide has plenty of info if you're willing to dig into it. I'll look over the idea that you wouldn't know what driver type to use and wanting to create a driver because videowall is a bit of an odd one, but it's going to be AVswitch.

Removing C4 lighting from house
Cyknight replied to backinorange's topic in General Control4 Discussion
Assuming this is a lutron central panel system with low voltage keypads...Oh probably a $100k or up to rewire the complete house, redo drywall (assuming it's drywall, not latch let alone brick or concrete) and repaint everything to ensure colour match plus permits for electrical, fixing whatever shows up because you're doing a full house reno that wouldn't pass inspection.... Pretty sure seller is going to pass on your offer....
