The 2Tb limit is for external drives hooked directly up to a controller via USB or eSata, and has no bearing on NAS drivers.

Eric i have emailed you in private to keep most of this out of public view but i will however correct some misconceptions.
Driver development is niche.  I am not sure how much your time is worth however given the market cap for control systems is vastly smaller than the market cap for normal android / ios development we have to set a price point where we can still profit (or at least break even) with the sale a minimum of 100 to 150 licences.
This usually takes anywhere between 1 to 2 years on average depending on the product.
As discussed there is a market cap of around 8000 Control4 systems deployed every month.  This is a perfect scenario if everyone were to purchase licences which they will never do.
Currently the main solution for control over android boxes is by a manufacturer called Videostorm called the IRUSB.  This device utilises USB-HID to inject keypresses without requiring root access (you just buy the hardware, install the app from Google playstore or amazon's store and off you go).
Anyway i hope that clears things up.  This product/driver has been dead for some time now (since Android 4) so it will be nice to resurrect the driver to give our customers some choice.

Kodi depricated any commands that change settings (including changing button states) via the HTTP API.  Ironically we changed to the HTTP from the JSON-RPC because the JSON-RPC gets stuck when changing user profiles.
As Mitch mentions we don't make changes to our drivers until it gets closer to release (we have been burnt in the past).  Once RC builds are released we will update the driver.

alanchow got a reaction from Ale Quiroga in Chowmain - TP-Link Wifi Smart Home Driver Suite

Chowmain - TP-Link Wifi Smart Home Driver Suite
Chowmain has integrated the range of TP-Link Wifi based Smart Home products into Control4 with two way control and feedback.  This provides easy to retrofit solutions for outlet control, inwall switch control and also LED bulb control.  The hardware is extremely affordable with outlets starting at $24.99 MSRP, bulbs at $19.99 MSRP and light switches at $39.99 MSRP.  It definately adds value to any Control4 installation.
    Outlets
Control4 supplies the wireless outlet switch that makes any household plug-in device, like lamps, appliances and electronics part of the Control4 system by turning a standard outlet into a smart outlet.
Unfortunately this device is not available to the majority of the world as it only supports 120VAC voltage for US plug type devices.
Introducing the tp-link HSXXX series of Wi-Fi smart plugs. It has plug types and regulatory compliance for the majority of the world and is extremely affordable. This WiFi based power outlet supports up to 10amps and can be easily integrated into the Control4 home automation system using the Chowmain TP-Link HSXXX driver.
The HS110 version can be utilised for energy monitoring and management using our driver and Control4.  It can also be useful for device health monitoring and also for automatic selection of manually controlled AV devices like Playstation 4’s, Xbox One’s and the Nintendo Switch.
    Features
Automatic Discovery Self Healing on IP Address change Abilty to connect driver to outlet light or relay device drivers which in turn allows you to view the correct icon on navigator interface or even eliminate standby power on AV based devices. Ability to connect driver to keypad buttons (with LED feedback) to allow for quick on/off/toggle programming Ability to monitor and manage energy using insight based switches. Ability to use energy monitoring in HS110 outlets for automatic selection and room off of Playstation, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and other manually controlled devices On/Off feedback from the device.  Bulbs
Control4 have provided a variety of lighting solutions for circuit level control.  They have yet to offer an easy to install solution for lamps or individual lights.  The TP-Link solves this problem with their affordable range of Wifi bulbs.  These wifi bulbs can be dimmed, the color temperature can be changed to suit the customer's lifestyle (eg warmer white vs cooler white) and the hue color bulbs can be used for various functionality including notifications via colors (eg flash red and blue to alert the customer).
    Features
Automatic Discovery Self Healing on IP Address change Automatically hide Color, Saturation and temperature depending on the bulb type. Ability to change modes between Color Temp and Hue Allows control and feedback over Brightness Hue Saturation Color Temp Ability to connect driver to keypad buttons (with LED feedback) to allow for quick on/off/toggle programming Preset Level and Click Ramp Rate Support FAQ

What hardware will this work on?
This driver will work for the following devices.
    Bulbs
    LB100 LB110 LB120 LB130 LB200 LB230 Outlets
    HS100 HS103 HS105 HS110 Wall Switches
HS200 It may also work with other models of the TP-Link smart home products but they are untested.

Can you give us some examples of how we could use this driver?
In Australia we do not have access to the Control4 outlet switch. As such we cannot easily integrate floor lamps, bedside table lights, fans, electric heaters, towel rails, etc easily. This driver fills in the gap to integrate these devices into the Control4 system.  This driver allows connection to the Control4 outlet light driver and any relay based binding. As such you can get the correct icon on your navigator and also bind it to your AV device to minimise standby power.  This driver can also detect power usage statistics from the HS110 outlet. This can be useful for programming energy management based actions.  This driver allows connection to any Control4 keypad for ease of use programming.  On Hs110 outlets you can turn on your Xbox One, Playstation 4 or Nintendo Switch using their controller and have Control4 automatically turn on the system to the right inputs. Turn off the console using the console's controller or power button and have Control4 automatically turn the room off.  How do I find out more information about the driver?
Please see the links below for more information about the driver.

alanchow got a reaction from msgreenf in PSA: All FireTV's using the Control4 Driver are about to break
The IRUSB device and app work in conjunction with each other.  The app receives the command from the driver and sends it to the IRUSB hardware.  The hardware then uses USB-HID to send the keypress to the android device.  Its actually quite a smart way of getting around the problem.
Currently there are no stand alone apps that allow for keypresses as Android 5 broke this (Android 4 allowed you to do keypresses direct from an app).
ADB also allows you to do this but as mentioned this has broken in recent releases (not only for Control4 but every automation system).
    Hope that helps.

There is no set discount.  The dealer has their margin and if he wants to give you a discount by eating into his margin then it is upto him.
Having said that it is important (especially for large systems) to get a good dealer with a considerable amount of experience.  As a bad dealer will not design or program the system correctly.
Also your expectations are extremely high.  You're pretty much telling them to give you their money though i can't comment on exactly what the dealer margin is on products.

Picked up a nest hello, an elk930 and elk924 to wire it into my hc250 and am playing around before buttoning it up neatly
    Programing accomplishes
If the family room is on> pauses the source, takes a snapshot of the active source, switches to the nvidia shield, launches the nest app with kodi full driver, plays an announcement in the speakers with voice genie driver.
Then press cancel on the remote and it reverts to the source that was playing before the button press and presses play

Button press and motion via IFTTT turns foyer and front porch lights on for 5 minutes

Yeah we made a driver for yeelight.
    https://www.chowmainsoft.com/yeelight-control4
Driver auto discovers bulbs and auto configures itself to hide the modes it doesn't use.  Eg white only bulbs hide the color and temperatures, temperature only ones hide color, etc.
Full two way feedback with instantaneous response, self healing, etc.
Made it stupidly cheap as well so it'll be a no brainer to invest in the driver (way cheaper than buying a philips hue bridge + bulbs even with the driver licence!)

Yeelight have an open API which is why we can do so much with it in comparison to other products.  It is 240v and 110v so please make sure you purchase the right one.
They have strips, bulbs, lamps and ceiling lights.  I personally have a RGB strip, RGBW bulb and mono bulb.  All dimmable.
Bulbs prices start at just above $10 USD
