  1. Really enjoying 3.5mm Rs232 port on Sony TV's, works great on all our projects. We use TV's as displays only, and the best part is once its set it will work for ever!
  2. Wow have been waiting for this to show up on snapone for a while... The price though... IDK was really hoping this would help compete with Sonos amps...
  3. I would really like to know how Control4 plans to manage the Connect Feature of "Software Updates" they are selling to the end user in the marketing. It is very vague in the marketing material. "Control4 Connect provides access to software and security updates" I can see an end user assuming that this includes updates in the price? Which I don't think is the case. Its funny because every Control4 customer that has their system connected to the internet already has access to software and security updates through their dealer for a fee normally, if not on a service contract. I understand why dealers charge for updates because it takes time and they are responsible for fixing any issues that might come up post update.
  4. I'm actually exited about Connect and additions they may add, and in 2024 having remote access standard is nice! The one place I think there is an over reach is with the CoreLite. I hope they change the stance on this requirement. As a one room universal remote, requiring a customer to pay $100 year I just don't see the value.
  5. All good points on Assist, more details I look forward to learning. They mention this is done with OVRC so I assume that the support will stop there... For sure on Connect, they just rebranded 4Sight and increased the price 100% and made it required. I'm sure this has everything to do with the stock price:)
  6. This is going to be interesting... I think Assist is a good option for dealers that do not currently have service plans setup. That said as we currently have service plans with our clients, from a dealers point of view, will have to wait and see what the margins are like to see if this makes sense for us. As far as Connect goes, I am just glad they are grandfathering in existing customers for now... but watch out for this line though... "There will be no changes required for existing Control4 customers or 4Sight subscribers, but certain software improvements will only be made available to active Control4 Connect accounts."
  7. On a small one room system with no IP drivers, I have noticed a ~2 sec lag from selecting watch TV from a Halo vs a SR260/C4 app from when the TV turns on...
  8. I have a client/ family friend that I installed one of my first Control4 Job's with a HTC and 2) RCZ-SRC2-B remotes. I'm always happy when I go to their house and see it's still working! On a side note I really liked that remote, 1 button press to turn on the system!
  9. +1 now that I am thinking about it, it would be nice to have a geo tag or Director ip tag based on wifi connection so when I am on a property and open the app it will connect to the current property and not the last connected.
  10. Got it. Thanks for the update. You would think that they would be able to auto direct based on USA IP address. Or better yet add a check box “ remember my decision”
  11. On a side note it would be nice if I did not have to click on "I'm coming from" Ever time I try and access the Tech Community. Especially since only the Snap One login works anymore...
  12. I used to have an old HC300 I keep around for ages to do the embernet upgrade. Once I updated all of my old switches and my last customer to zigbee pro years ago I gave it away. It's time consuming and I believe cost prohibitive to a pay dealer (if you could even find one thats willing) to do it at this point... I would recommend trying to buy old style that have already been updated to zigbee pro. I still have a few floating around if your interested I could look but not sure I would have 8.
  13. Update: testing vmware fusion 13.5 for the past 24hrs with win 11 arm. After adjusting system allocation setting its running smooth!
  14. I appreciate everyone's feedback! I created an account to try the VMware Player, (MacBook tracking shows delivery Wed!) Thinking I'll also buy a Parallels Standard 1 time key tomorrow for Cyber Monday. Does anyone have any comparison between Parallels Standard 1 time purchase vs The Pro Subscription? Thanks!
  15. Hello, Just picked up a new work laptop MacBook Pro M3 Pro should arrive next week. What is everyone using for emulation? Parallels w/ Win11? Was also looking at Crossovers and Whiskey? Like the idea of not having to run a full Windows VM just for composer pro. Most search results on the web are a few years old on the M1 chip. Would love any personal feedback experience with any of the above apps. Thanks, Happy programming!
  16. If one already has a New NVR LUM-220 or LUM-420 with x20 cameras in the project what does this add besides cloud recordings? Is this intended for customers without an NVR?
  17. Basically the full driver allows you to use Control4 built in media search on touch screens and navigator. I found I like to use the native Kodi interface so the lite version has everything I need. See attached below from dev. What is the difference between KODI Lite and Full? Kodi Full has everything Kodi Lite has but also has the ability to browse and search Movies, TV Shows, Youtube, VEVO, Video Files, Video Addons, Music Addons, Music Library and Music Files. This enriches the Control4 Navigator user interface with video browsing and searching capabilities it doesn't normally have.
  18. I have been using Kodi for local playback for 10+ years on many different platforms; Nuc, (Rpi 1,2,3,4) ODROID C2, ODROID-N2+. The ODROID N2+ w/2gigRam has been rock solid. Highly recommend with Alan's Kodi lite Driver. Also have a few old Dune Smart H1's that I use for DVD playback, I find the video processing to look great for DVD's.
  19. @Andrew luecke Trying to confirm if the Haiku Gen 4 fans are compatible with your v2 Big ass fan driver. Thanks!
  20. Only way I have had success with Neeo's and Unifi is to create a separate network for each remote, and only broadcast that network on the 1 closest AP.
  21. If you have space put a 1U vent blank plate between the EA-5 and your network switch...
