I enjoy my C4 system as well. It's a basic system that I've added to over the years but like so many users I get frustrated with what I cannot do myself. I'm a hands on guy and like to do things on my own if I have the capability. I agree with both points jfh makes and feel like a lot of times I have to tell my dealer to do things that should be automatic for him. There aren't alot of suggestions coming my way. I don't know if I would still do a C4 system if I had to do it again now, The main benefit to me today is one central control point for all the different devices I have, I just don't think we're that far away from there being other options for that. Apple Homekit is starting to take us down that road. For basic users like myself this is definitely an alternative. Personally I think C4 will need to adapt as we move forward to stay competitive as other reputable companies enter the game. I know people have been saying that for years but there were no real affordable alternatives before, I think that is changing.
