Could you use a dummy light switch (for instance named Apple Music Light) to trigger programming in Control4 to turn on a Control 4 listen device? siri - “turn on Apple Music light” C4 programming: when light level changes: if load is on - select audio device - Apple TV; if load is off - turn the room off

I noticed I can no longer discover new devices with the epic Alexa driver. Is it still required to have a generation 1 Alexa device in order to have new devices discovered?

Currently I use an Apple TV connected to my audio matrix to play Apple Music. I can use Siri on my phone to select what Apple Music content to play BUT I have to use a touchscreen or the control4 app to select “kitchen listen Apple TV”. With your driver, are you able to select a music source in control4 with siri?

If I were to change to the Sonos port would I lose Alexa voice control? Would I be limited to playing playlists in Sonos (would prefer not to have to pull out my phone to use the Sonos app)?

I am using alexa to play apple music through an echo dot which is connected to my C4 audio matrix. Is there a way to see what's playing (ie. song & artist) on a T3 touchscreen. Right now it just shows echo dot playing but there is no media info. Thx

Agree, shairbridge much simpler, but i would like the option to use Siri to select music which requires Airplay 2.

I assume if I were to connect VSSL A.1 to my C4 audio matrix or EA5, I would need to use the C4 app or a touchscreen to select the VSSL as the listening source in the room I am before airplay2 from phone? Is there anyway to automate this so it would work like Shairbridge (ie. have multiple instances of the VSSL Driver in the rooms where I have audio so on my phone I would see VSSL kitchen, VSSL outdoor, etc - i select which one to airplay2 to & that room auto-ons)? thx

I believe Apple TV+, NBA, and Disney are all available as apps on Sony android tv’s

What are you using the Apple TV for? Your Sony TV has android so you have most apps (Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV) In the TV already and can play any 4K content that is available.

Hey “mgrober”. I’m in a similar situation to you. My house was built in 2009. A component video matrix was installed along with two rg6 and two cat5e to each tv/media location. I’ve thought about trying to upgrade but I’m skeptic as to whether 4K over cat5e will work reliably. i have a large control4 install with EA5 as controller (6 tv and 16 zones of audio, tonnes of dimmers/keypads). in our two media rooms where we watch the majority of our television, I’ve upgraded to sony android 4K TVs. These rooms have 5.1 audio. Apart from sports, we watch most of our content on Netflix or Amazon prime so we see programming in HDR and some 4K with 5.1 audio (tv optical out to 5.1 receiver). for the other TVs in the house i wonder if it would be cheaper/simpler to replace them with sony 4k android TVs and local cable boxes with audio through local soundbars rather than trying to go HDMI matrix or video over IP. Let me know what you ultimately choose and how it works out.

I will be upgrading my system from 2.10.6 to OS3. I have a sonos connect which we use for apple music. I have been on the old extra-vegetables sonos driver (7.5.7) forever and it works fine for what we need (using a touchscreen or the phone app; I can start a favorites playlist, scroll through the queue and play individual tracks, shuffle, skip back, skip next, clear the queue). My dealer tells me that this driver may cause problems or have limited functionality in OS3. I understand there is a Sonos certified driver (version 95) now. Does it have the same functionality as what I use now or are there more limitations (ie. can I do everything that is in the brackets above). Thx in advance.

What is the QLaunch command for Amazon Prime Video on the Fire TV Stick. The one I have currently in my driver does not work. When I use the control4 universal driver it launches the Fire TV's main menu. Thx in advance

Does anyone happen to know if the C4-7ZTOT3 7”TS backbox adapter comes in black. Originally I had the C4-TSWM7 touchscreen that i replaced with the infinity edge 7” using an adapter plate. Now I am trying to replace the infinity edge with a 7” T3 but i need a new adapter plate. Thx in advance

I’ve been looking for a video doorbell to use. I would prefer an Ethernet connection and live RTSP stream than can be recorded on my NVR, as well as be able to integrate with control4. Is anyone using the hikvision wifi doorbell (i understand it is wifi only) with the annex driver. Thoughts? Reviews? Thx -

Yes, running a RG6 cable from my rack out to the Triad by the pool would problematic. If the Sonos connect Digital out were to go to the Videostorm matrix first, then the digital out on the matrix to the EA-5 Digital In. -> would that be a problem. Is there a particular reason you should not connect an audio source to the EA-5?

We do use shairbridge, but sometimes its just easier to hit a button on a keypad and have a Sonos favorites playlist start playing. What would the audio inputs on a EA-5 be used for?
