drmark12pa reacted to Darin, PM C4 CX Platform in composer HE bug after upgrade to 3.4.1.701303
No the remote issue with HE is a cloud bug, we have the cloud team working on resolving it. However, the the status still shows as "Fixing", so I don't believe the actual issue is fully resolved yet.  Their is  a comment mentioning a work around being applied for existing HE users to gain remote access though, so if you aren't a brand new HE user then it may be working for you now.

What you noticed is that it reset to default of showing roo - there's a toggle at the top for room or all (and those stripes in the middle will toggle any load vs only loads that are on)

We are still working on it. Had a death in the family, then when we resumed beta testing we discovered some api differences depending on which generation of the bed that was being used. So we are updating the code to handle different generations gracefully so that we don't get a bunch of support tickets.

I do this with a 2 second timer.
Every button push adds 1 to a user variable (let’s call it ButtonPushed)
On ButtonPushed changes, I have the following:
If ButtomPushed = 1 start timer
    On timer expires, I have:
look at value of ButtonPushed and decide what to do (I use 1, 2, 3 and 4 or more as my conditionals).
         set ButtonPushed to 0

My primary use of this code is to give more flexibility to the 3 custom buttons on SR260 remotes and to make the red button on all of my remotes into a panic button (if pressed multiple times).

The bug in 3.4.1 Composer HE will impact all systems running OS 3.4.1 currently.  The team that works on Composer believes they have found the root cause and they should have a patch out soon.

Does this happen to all systems or only some?  If it is the former then how does this get past QC?

deff needs to break up the commands with some delays. But the led wizard would be much better for this and is what i switched my programming to when the driver was released.

@drmark12pa - well worth using this driver for what you are doing! Saves (condenses) lots of programming.

No. It's a driver your dealer has to install. Once installed it's pretty self explanatory

Wow, I just connected this TV to C4 and couldn't have been easier. There's actually a setting in the TV for control 4 called control 4 port as an option to turn on or off. The TV is easily controlled by control 4 and actually is very similar to my Sony TVs but at a fraction of the cost. I will likely be installing one of these in another room of mine based on how inexpensive it was and the ability to play perfectly with control4. Highly recommend this brand from my experience so far.

So if C4 is upgrading their controllers, why can't they alphabetize the macros, Voice Scenes, etc.... ?  It seems odd that if everything is such a big change as to EOL a controller, the least that could be done then is allow alphabetizing of some of these items in programming.  I don't think that is asking too much if I'm going to be spending several thousand dollars on a new controller.  I don't think that would be asking too much.  If they do a significant enough revamp that makes something as complex as audio streaming I would think alphabetizing should be something in the capability of the engineers involved.
Every firmware update I'm always waiting to see this fix but for some reason it hasn't materialized.

Yes, it is super lame that there is no better way to find what’s been programmed for your own house.  In general, it’s crazy that they continue to evolve the hardware side but composer is basically windows 98.

I think it's more than fair to ask for basic things such as alphabetizing which should have been implemented years ago.  Any user who is using programming will be utilizing these features, not every user has color lighting or knows anything about proxies, etc. Going through a list of macros and Voice Commands in Composer that is completely random seems very dated.  If the new OS is not able to support old code/hardware to run equipment then the new code/hardware should be able to address this code change as well.  I personally have no interest in the items you mentioned but would readily welcome better organization in Composer.  Right now, Composer seems a bit behind the times when you can't even organize certain lists in Composer to find what you need without scrolling through an entire list.
Yes I have emailed Control4 about this previously.

Still seems like a lame hit to consumer when it's a basic streaming device function and have to buy new controller just to mimic identical function seems like a cash grab.  If I wanted additional functions/speed I would buy a new controller but for what it's being used for there is no reason to buy a new controller.  Now I'm forced to buy a new controller.  Minus 1 point for Control4......

drmark12pa got a reaction from Dueport in Berto LIFX driver... Amazing
Using the LIFX servers has lag time and you can't enter commands simply back to back or you won't get a response.  This driver is actually faster than the LIFX app which is already pretty fast but this is immediate.  Huge props on the this driver and can't say enough good things after dealing with issues of lag time and now after recent firmware update, I was having bulbs come on at the 1% setting that other drivers considered OFF and no way of getting lower brightness with other drivers than that 1%....

drmark12pa got a reaction from msgreenf in Chowmain - LIFX Wifi Lighting Driver
I think I figured out the issue of slow responses using the driver. Most of my commands were based on an IF command for what the current light level was. I'm assuming that has to check through the cloud what the light level is creating a slight delay. What I've done to remedy this is create a variable in Control4 that is the light value so that the checking of that value is much quicker and therefore bypasses the cloud for checking what the actual brightness level is. This in turn allows the LIFX light to utilize the driver in the fast manner bypassing the cloud.
