  1. Hey, thanks for popping in. The one I got was new in box and swapping the outputs in the back to another cat cable actually shifts the green link light, so I assumed the issue was at the endpoints. I did figure out 2 issues last night. One I think was a bad receiver. It was making noises and things worked when I swapped it out. Another had a bad power supply. So that's 2 more online. Guess I just gotta figure out what's the issue at the other endpoints
  2. So, as I posted last year, my Matrix went out and I couldn't get ahold of my dealer to come address. I couldn't find another Binary HD-300 so I switched to an HD-520 and then also updated the receivers to match. Of the 7 TVs updated, only 2 of them are actually getting picture. For the other outputs, none of the "Link" lights illuminate (neither on the receiver or the matrix). I've checked that it's not the receivers as I can swap between them on the TVs (I can use a receiver from a non-working TV and move it to a TV that IS working and it will still work), so I'm guessing it's related to the actual endpoints. My first though was something with the run distance -- but that doesn't track, because aside from it working with the other HD-300 series, 2 of the locations working are much farther than the others and is equidistant from another that's not working (adjoining bedrooms). My next thought is maybe something is up with the cables themselves? We still don't know what took out our HD-300, but assuming a power surge, could that have done damage to the cat cables?
  3. We currently have ADT with a Vista 21 IP panel that our integrator installed way back when. When they recently came out to swap the cellular module, the tech short circuited something in the panel and -- according to the ADT tech -- fried it. They are proposing installing their own panel for free, or I can get a new Vista panel, but they won't install it since it's unsupported. Any recommendations here? He's touting ADT's "cloud" stuff, but it's really just rehashing stuff I can already do through C4. Now, if C4 can integrate with whatever ADT is installing these days, I'm all for it. If not, any recommendations? Should I just grab another Vista panel and swap it out?
  4. Can that handle cat5 out? The current matrix has cat5 out for all 8 sources with one source being both cat5 and hdmi
  5. OK, as I noted in this thread, my matrix seems to be a done deal. I'm tempted to just throw some roku or fire TV sticks behind each TV in the house, but that still leaves some sources, like our Kaleidescape players, out. Any recommendations for something that should be fairly plug and play? I don't mind too much tinkering, but prefer this to just work so I can move on. Realistically, we could whittle our sources down to just 6, but we do have 5 outputs that are used very often, 2 less often and one rarely, so 8 is still the magic number there.
  6. Hey guys, So we had solar installed and as part of the switchover process they had to cut power. I wasn't at home at the time so wasn't able to go shut things down. Our rack got shut down in this process (battery standby wasn't enough to cover the time) and once back up we get no video signal to any devices on the network coming from the matrix. All but one anyway. Our Roku WILL actually display the menu screens, but once you try to play a video, you get the below HDCP issue: I've tried numerous things including unplugging EVERYTHING and shutting everything down. I did note that the front of the matrix shows 8 solid blue lights for each source even after they were unplugged (aside from one). Some googling lead me to discussions of power supply issues, so I tried a new power supply and nada. Any ideas what could be up? I was going to try a factory reset, but seems I may make things worse with programming getting nuked in the process. Thanks!
  7. I have a few. I installed one at my office first to gauge how it worked. I had it set up for motion at night and it worked well (auto turning on the lights when I walked in). Didn't set up the Alexa there since I didn't want my account live at the office. Most switches in my home are either already C4 switches or 3 way and multiple in an area, so I haven't decided just yet where to install at home. Haven't gotten to play with the Alexa and other tie-ins yet, but the simple install at the office works well. I am curious if I'd be able to get C4 to control it for i.e. a "lights out" macro.
