For anyone wanting to do the same thing - use room variable CURRENT_SELECTED_DEVICE instead.  That gives you the proxy ID of the driver you want.  Then write some code to set the the name of the source/app.

Went back to Magnolia today on an unrelated matter and one of the consultants convinced my wife this is a bad idea and we should just run all sound through the AVR so I now have one less issue to worry about.

Samsung has a delay in receiving commands for powering ON after it has powered OFF.  So quick turn ON's after OFF, won't work.
Assuming your HDBT balun has phoenix terminal for rs232.  Buy a long 3.5 stereo audio cable.  Cut it in half (or whatever length you need).  Plug connector into Exlink and wire white to Tx, red to Rx and braided shield to Gr.  Other end, plug connector into controller and wire white to Rx, red to Tx and braided shield to Gr.

Being able to control Art Mode is paramount.
 I would like to have the TV go to Art Mode using the Frame TV sensors when it senses someone is in the room (and be able to program events on Art Mode activation (light and sound) but if that’s not possible/practical/reliable I could ignore/disable the built in sensor and use the NYCE motion doctor in the room to trigger programming.
I’m also hoping there is a way to query the status of Art Mode (on, off)
 
Don’t really care about controlling TV apps but would like to set up mini drivers for YouTube, Amazon Prime and whatever other mini drivers would work.
 
Given the above I should use IP and not serial or IR?  I can run rs232 ir IR over the HDBT balun but hoping it’s not needed.

So if C4 is upgrading their controllers, why can't they alphabetize the macros, Voice Scenes, etc.... ?  It seems odd that if everything is such a big change as to EOL a controller, the least that could be done then is allow alphabetizing of some of these items in programming.  I don't think that is asking too much if I'm going to be spending several thousand dollars on a new controller.  I don't think that would be asking too much.  If they do a significant enough revamp that makes something as complex as audio streaming I would think alphabetizing should be something in the capability of the engineers involved.
Every firmware update I'm always waiting to see this fix but for some reason it hasn't materialized.

Turns out an entire bank of a WatBoxx 700 died and a the EA5 and a few other devices had no power.  So, fortunately an easy fix.

To add to this I don’t like not having access to or control over the licenses I’ve paid for.  The licenses should be associated with the project owner not the dealer.  I should be able to login into the drivercentral site and see what my dealer sees when it comes to my licenses.

Announcements not playing properly on touchscreens and sometimes in general.  Announcement processing was finally rock solid in 3.1.2 after being iffy in quite a few releases and took a step backwards in 3.2.1

To reset without using the display screen, insert a straightened paper clip into the pinhole to the left of the microphone on top of the touch screen, then press and hold it while pressing the RESET pinhole button for several seconds until the the icon below appears on the display.

Sorry this is now fixed.  The server that this was on filled up and we didn't clear it.  This shouldn't be a problem in future as we've added in a cronjob that deletes the files periodically.

Pulse V2 has been a significant improvement over v1.  With the Annex drivers the shades just work.  I’d like to see some minor improvements in the drivers but using the Rollease motors saved me a boatload of money.

I agree with you in general; was just curious about real-world experiences.
I suspect by the time I sell my house I won’t really care.  
 
However, it may be like selling a house with a pool.  It used to be considered a selling point.  Now many consider it a liability.

Routines are not linked to the C4 skill.  They are tied to the underlying Alexa account.

The problem appears to be related to the recent 510 firmware and an issue with the camera driver’s authentication.  Here are my notes after a support call this morning  I still have a minor issue in the iOS ap with an old Wirepath camera and haven’t verified that the Android ap displays the cameras but I get my live feeds on T3s faster than ever.
 
In a nutshell the extreme delay on the 710s was because the Third Substream was not active and C4 would go to mpeg after multiple attempts at H.264 and the latest firmware changed how the streams were served (I don’t really understand those details).

On the 710 we changed:
System Settings/Hardware settings - checked enable third stream.  This requires the camera to reboot.
Video/Audio - Change the main stream to H.264 video encoding and H.264+ to off.  Third stream is now selectable and video encoding is H.264.  

Also changed a bitrate setting down from the camera default to 8192.

Then In Composer properties for each driver change authentication type from Basic to Digest.  Then go to Camera Test, get the H.264 URL and run test.   If it gets past “Calculating frame rate”, all is good.   (This is the step where he originally thought there was a firmware issue but coworker said try changing to digest).

Verify in Advanced Properties that Stream type was Third Stream and Connection method was LUMA NVR (they were).

The cameras now pop in in 1-2 seconds, which is the best it’s ever been.

I have a bigger install today but if I have time later this afternoon I’ll remote in and double check that customers configuration. I’ll get you the resolutions we are using on sub stream for navigator.
