  1. Driver works as designed except for double inputs on the up and down. commands.
  2. Its true. 300's are good at just walking off on us for no good reason other then the power supply decided it was done. If none of your keypads work then it feels more like the Zigbee Coordinator has died from existence. If the device that holds the coordinator has died. then im afraid its a call to your dealer.
  3. Yea it preloads all backup options. Then cross checks with the director and populates the boxes and hides ones that do not apply. Their may be times when it says it cant or wont backup z wave devices. Basically let it do its thing then click save. It will save to your defined location as a C4P file. This is basically a ZIP folder that contains a snapshot of your director. So lets say you break the hell out of your system you can import and overwrite your broken state with the c4p project to bring it back to that snapped state. Also make a habit of doing a backup after a control4 tech appears too. As they may have changed something you have no power over and it could screw up things if you import a old C4P that predates your tech's visit.
  4. It's possible if you don't set the listener as a single thread. And have it continue to listen even if it's in execution of a previous order But that would work if you had 4 buttons. As you can't really multiple push them unless you wait for sleep between each press
  5. Im a software programmer as well. However keep in mind programming is extremely simple but you must understand its not a line based thing. Everything is recationary and hidden in places. If you have later then 2.10 you will have a program overview of all logic however anything pre 2.10 you will have to hunt down all the clauses. Talk with your dealer they can get you the software. however @Cyknight is right. Engineer's have the highest potential to tinker it out of working order. So tread carefully.
  6. This is true. Hence why I tell my clients "if the icon is red, there is a potential for dead"
  7. Yes it's impossible to really break control4 with HE it's just the programmed logic that gets messed up. Some can't wrap their heads around the drag and drop logic.
  8. Sadly yes. Me as a dealer I want nothing more than a home owner to have self control over their home. However sometimes we get demanding and overbearing people whom can do no wrong. So I understand the reasons dealers avoid the conversation.
  9. I've learned to do that with control4 too. I'm a big fan of pushing it to its limits. I get conflicted sometimes as i know that Linux shell can do so much more. But I don't dare do it to customers as it voids all warranties. And utah generally frowns upon us programmers tinkering in busybox.
  10. I was able to achieve this with a raspberry pi. By networking scanning the devices mac. The dash buttons stay offline until the button is pressed. Once they connect they appear on the network send their command then go offline. So I Treat the connect as a press. So when the raspberry pi notices the element come online from its mac id it then sends a restful push to a controller. However I built this for a crestron project so it would take a bit of time to make a control4 driver.
  11. Dealers tend to avoid talking about it. What happens is a client will get HE and with HE you have a lot of power to program things on your own. In doing so dealers find less than kind people when they break their programming and then proceed to blame the mistake on the dealer for a free house call. Not saying you will do this. But this is usually what happens. We have a clause that states when you buy HE you assume responsibility of programming your home and if any issue come by its a charge to appear no matter the situation. HE is alot of fun and If you get a tech willing to teach you you can have a lot of power over your system. But with that power comes the ability to dick it all up too. Just be sure to make backups before you make changes.
