  1. Hey everyone our rack fan is loud! We would like to replace it. As you can see in the picture it is mounted at the top of our rack. Can anyone suggest a source for a better, quieter fan? And is this mounting point standardized, i.e. will an aftermarket fan have screw holes that line up with these? thanks for your help IMG_6562.HEIC
  2. Hi, I am planning to go ahead and buy the Yale Assure 2 lock along with the Zigbee module mentioned above. Below is a picture. Just to be on the safe side, can you confirm that this is the right module?
  3. thank you very much for looking into this. yes i did notice that the garage door binding was wiped after i experimented with different z2io options. BUT the z2io device itself should still be working. that is, if i use the actions "open relay" and "close relay" in the z2io it should work. and indeed i hear the click so it seems to be working. but it's not triggering the remote. and as i wrote before the remote works fine for example if i just manually connect the wires. so i think i have to conclude the z2io is faulty?
  4. gladly, thanks for following up. here is a picture with the "cover" on and two views with the cover off where you can see the internal wiring.
  5. Ok I need some help with z2io wiring. I have a liftmaster remote. i have soldered wires to the contact points on the circuit board of the remote. i can touch the two wires together and activate the remote and open and close the garage. My z2io is on my zigbee network and in composer HE i can use the "close relay 1" action and i hear the z2io clicking telling me that it should be working. I have my two wires to the garage remote connected to the jumpers for relay 1. i have no other wires connected to jumpers in the z2io. I have the z2io configured in composer to Option 3 (1 relay 2 contacts). All of the above is good. But the "close relay 1" action, while it makes an audible click in the z2io does not trigger the garage remote. i have checked and rechecked all the wiring, and again the remote is activated if i just touch the wires together so I am at a loss. The only thing I can think of is maybe if I have option 3 selected for the z2io i actually need to have two contacts connected to the z2io??? I am doing this project one step at a time so I wanted to get the garage activation working first before starting to work on the sensors and garage state detection. I havent bought the contact sensors yet. I see there is an Option 4 in the z2io for just one relay, so maybe i should be using that option but unfortunately the z2io manual does not show me the wiring pattern for Option 4. Can anyone point me to the correct wiring pattern for Option 4 or Option 5 (both are for just 1 relay)? And if there is any other advice you can give me I would very much appreciate it. Thank you
  6. Hi everyone, I am the OP (i.e. the one to blame for this long thread.) After much delay I have now got a z2io added to my project, soldered wires to my Chamberlain remote and connected them to R1 on the z2io. i can open and close the garage by using the "close relay" action in Properties under the z2io. but i am not a dealer, i don't have composer pro and so i am unable to make the connection between the garage and the z2io. i like my dealer and he is responsive so i am sure if i told him what to do he would/could do it. so what exactly is the connection that needs to be made? i have a garage in my project, it has a "garage door" and in programming there are commands like "open" "close" etc. (and i used to use these with the old myq driver). i suppose this garage door needs to be connected to the z2io so that "open" will close the relay triggering the soldered remote to send the signal to the garage. is there a simple way to explain to my dealer what to do? thanks again for your help.
  7. Really?? is that a bug or a feature? why would that happen?
  8. I used to ssh into director and reboot. That isnt possible anymore since 3.0. Then I used to use the Driver Central cloud driver which had an action to reboot the controller. That seems gone now too. I really would prefer not to power cycle. There must be another way. Right????
  9. We have a C4 DS2 door station and it rings the intercom on our touchscreen and also our (iOS) phones. But only some of us in the family want to receive those rings. We used to control that by just not installing the intercom app on those phones we didn't want rung. But now its integrated into the main iOS app. What are the ways we can specify only which phones receive incoming rings?
  10. Hi, I think I sent you a PM but I didnt get any reply. I would be interested in buying one from you.
  11. Ok I would like to thank everyone for their input. I am now going to start on this garage door project. I have read all of the suggestions and the helpful howto's. I have a good sense of what I need to do but still a few questions I was hoping to get your help with. A. Garage door status/sensors. So I plan to put contact sensors on the garage door and connect these to a Z2IO located in the garage. I know I have Zigbee range there because there are C4 light switches in the garage. Here are my questions. Note I have only one garage door. 1. contact sensors. @RyanE helpfully suggested getting two sensors so that I can have a closed and an open state. As I understand it what this means is that I will put the garage in a closed position and then mount sensors to be "in contact" when the garage in this position and those sensors will be indicating the closed position of the garage. Then I will do the same with the garage open and a second pair of sensors. Is this correct? 2. garage-specific sensors. Again @RyanEhelpfully suggested using "garage-specific sensors" because they mount better. Can you suggest a specific product to buy? 3. programming. Finally, once I have the hardware in place, this will need to be included in my C4 project obviously. I suppose at this point I ask my dealer to get involved? My dealer is generally very good so I trust he will be able to handle it. I just tell him that my garage door is no longer controlled by the defunct MyQ driver but now its state should be read from the state of these sensors? Note that I do quite a lot of programming myself in Composer HE. So all I really need is the garage door to appear in my project with the actions of "open" and "close" and with events like "garage door opening" etc. and I can take it from there. B. Controlling the garage door. I will solder a spare remote. I think I can figure out how to do that. And then from what I understood from your suggestions the wire will then be connected to another Z2IO either in the garage or connected directly to the controller via an "IO extender" in the rack. I would prefer to connect it directly to the controller because I know that my rack is within Garage-Remote-Range of the garage door. Questions: 1. I have an HC800. What input on the HC800 am I connecting to? This is one aspect of the installation that your suggestions were a little short of details on. How do I obtain the IO extender? 2. programming again. I suppose again this part will require the involvement of my dealer. Again I just need the actions to be available to me in Composer HE and I can take it from there. Thanks again for the super helpful people on this great forum and I look forward to your answers.
  12. do you (or anyone) have a howto you could share? i think its time my 16 yr-old learned how to solder.
  13. I have been using the DriverCentral MyQ driver for my Liftmaster garage door. Yes it has been working just fine. Until today. Talking with DriverCentral support they told me that existing accounts had been grandfathered (meaning that Liftmaster was allowing their driver to communicate but only on existing accounts, not any newly created accounts). But as of today my existing account (havent changed username or password) can no longer check in through the driver. I think I am not the only one that was still able to use this driver. Is there anyone out there that had been using it, is it still working for you? Thanks.
  14. hi everyone, i just upgraded from 2.x to 3.2 (finally) and its great! but i can no longer ssh to director and login as root using either the standard (t0tal...) password or the one i had previously changed it to. i do recall reading some thread here about how password changes were no longer possible in 3.x or something like that. should i be able to ssh into director and login as root? if i cannot how am i supposed to reboot the controller now? (i always did it by logging in as root and issuing reboot) thanks as always for your help.
  15. We use an SR-260 to turn on the TV (Watch-> Roku for example). We don't want our 13 year old turning on the TV after midnight. I would like to trap the button press (Selecting Roku for example) with programming that first checks the time and if its after midnight (and before 10am say) does nothing. What's the best way to do this? Thanks in advance.
  16. Hey everyone, here is a fun integration project: There are on the market "doggy doorbells" that you put by a door and train a dog to activate in order to alert you that he has to go outside to do his business. Has anyone come across a product like this that could act as a doorbell in C4 so that I can program an announcement to play throughout the house? Or maybe something like this could be kludged out of a standard doorbell. Any thoughts?
  17. The MyQ app lists the following as "works with MyQ": Amazon Key Tend Nest Alarm.com Wink Xfinity home Google Assistant IFTTT Honeywell So maybe another route is to integrate these systems and go through them. I think I used to use Wink but for some reason it stopped working. I can't remember exactly. Google Assistant? I do have Alarm.com, but not integrated with C4. Any thoughts on these alternatives?
  18. I vaguely recall hearing there was a cinegration driver as well? Or is that the same as driver central?
  19. I have been using the Houselogix Liftmaster MyQ driver for a few years without a problem. Yesterday it stopped communicating with my Garage Door opener. In Composer HE Properties for the driver I see that the License Status is still "Activated" but when I go the Actions tab and click "Get Account Devices" the Lua window shows Fetching... and nothing more. Does anybody know anything about this?
