A major updating adding support for many more devices including TP-LINK and Yeelight.
Zigbee is now supported on the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge and Zigbee2MQTT installs.

The new IoT Gateway driver supports automatic downloadable plugins which means new devices no longer need a driver update.  As new devices become available the driver now checks it’s online database for a supported plugin and downloads as required.
Custom MQTT messages can now be posted to a RestFUL API endpoint to process payloads and return name/value pairs to feedback variable updates to Control4. Process messages and return updates in your own framework and language of choice on your own server.
Performance enhancements to the MQTT client has improved scalability and currently systems with 100+ Tasmota devices and 130+ Shelly devices are running in commercial production environments.

Tasmota 9.2 is now supported although Zigbee support appears more stable with 8.5.1.
    A director restart is required.
This is a significant update and in some cases, dependent on devices in use, it may be necessary to clear exiting devices and setup again.
A vey big thank you to all those who provided beta testing, you know who you.

NextGenAV reacted to J to the D in Yale Lock
Yes Yale and Control4 told me the lock wasn’t supported and I had given up with getting it ID’d. It was only the fact I happened to speak to someone who had actually done it so I gave it a try. 3 button presses and then ID’d in.

My firmware version is 1.1.0 and I think I installed it late 2019.

As for zigbee range I’m not sure as I have a keypad next to the door so it’s never been an issue for me.

    Hope that helps.

I did. It was an easy fix in the end. All you need to do is press the identify button 3 times instead of the normal 4 with C4.

The only think I would say, there isn’t much you can do. Because of the way multipoint locks work you can’t lock the door but you can unlock. The only useful element for me is to get the status of the lock so I know of it’s been locked or not.

This lock does not track user entry or anything as far as I have seen.

    Hope that helps.

I read through this with interest ... I did a job recently for a friend of a friend and went down the route of pretty much giving him the equipment at trade on the assumption that he would install most of the kit and I would program it up. Nothing wrong with that, and I was happy to just do remote stuff.
He gave me back a EA-1 he said he wouldn't need now ... tested to be knackered! dead as a dodo. Of course it 'was like that when I got it' .. hmmm
Decided not to put speakers in a couple of rooms so returned a Traid amp ... a two year old one (which I found on sold listings on eBay)
Couldn't be bothered dealing with anything else so cut my losses at a couple of thousand. It's not always the dealer that is trying to maximise return from the customer.

    Life goes on gentlemen!
In my case when I went for a full home automation solution; and I’m an electronics engineer; I opted for C4! Received a quote and negotiated a cost plus job when I felt prices on hardware were inflated, my dealer was decent enough and transparent, also made suggestions to cut cost, explained pros and cons of every component and add on!
He also suggested that I take parts of the solution as am tech savvy like network and also suggested me to hook up everything and he do programming and integration to cut labor cost? Odd? He gained a very satisfied customer and I did recommend him to tons of my friends 🙂

This is consistent with the idea that dealers are not so much motivated to maximize absolute profit on any given job as they are to find the intersection of financial viability for them and ultimate satisfaction for the customer.  In other words, they know what margin they need to make on any given job to stay in business, and beyond that they just want to ensure the customer is happy with the price/performance of their purchase.
I'm not saying all dealers operate on this principle; just that this mentality may be more prevalent than most customers think.  It's the road to long term viability.

Chowmain launches massive update to the FREE Lithe Audio driver for Control4.

This update adds the ability to browse supported streaming services directly from any Control4 navigator.
Haven't seen Lithe Audio Wi-Fi ceiling speakers before? These amazing speakers are easy to retrofit as they have a 60W RMS amplifier and have Wi-Fi connectivity built-in. Theres no need for speaker cables or servers.
Stream your favorite Tidal, Deezer, Tune-In or vTuner audio from any Control4 navigator. Have an iPhone? The speakers have Airplay built in as well! Use Spotify? Send audio via spotify connect from your spotify app on Android / iOS or PC.

We asked them to improve their API so we can do this.  At present it is a list based API where we say select index and it moves to a different level.  As such there is no discrete way of selecting a particular album, station, track, etc programmatically.

I'm assuming you are using an iPhone. Is it set to switch off WiFi when the screen is off?
I tested on Android and connection to the system (locally) is under half a second from opening the app. The phone 'sleeps' after 30s of no use and then the app takes about 3s to connect.

    Brilliant!
Thanks again David, This driver has opened up so many possibilities for Control4. I dislike using cloud based services and a Pi running Mosquitto and Node-RED give C4 access to so much IoT content.
You need to have a 'Donate a beer button' ... if I use the driver on a project I will charge them a 'quality beer' fee and pass it on. You already have one in the tap!

    Great.
The GENERAL_MESSAGE_RECEIVED event is fired when a message is received on the one of the topics specified in the Topics property whilst the DEVICE_MESSAGE_RECEIVED is fired when a message is received on the topic from a specific bound device such as the Berto Sonoff Relay.
