  1. Just crossed my fingers and did it, and yes it worked perfectly. thanks for the assist!!
  2. so there is a takeover button in the pro tools tab, but when i click it, it warns me that the action will permanently uncouple my EA5 from the account. that is obviously not my intent so i am wondering how to do it for the wattbox
  3. That is what i am trying to do. From what i understand i need to use the web interface from the EA5? or am i doing it wrong? or to ask it another way, how to i get to the OVRC pro interface?
  4. I am trying to connect to my EA5 on port 60000 so i can get to the OVRC interface and try to do a takeover on some wattbox PDU that i purchased. But, it isn't working. everything else is working fine, and network connectivity is spot on but i just can't access the built in web page I went to the ovrc website and tried it from there as well, and still no luck The Wattboxes i have are fully accessible over IP directly and are also found in composer and I can add them to my project without a hitch. What i cannot do though, is add them to OVRC using the MAC address It's not a network issue, they show connected and can see the internet, etc. my guess is that they are tied to the old owners account and need to be taken over. any one have any ideas or tricks i can try?
  5. yes i have it on a static ip and static DNS already the weird part is that the logs state that it is connected: [02-01T16:32:43] Connected to cloud! [02-01T16:32:43] [CONNECTING] [02-01T16:32:38] Data Base Updated
  6. yeah, i have done a scan and it doesn't show up there. it's the weirdest thing. in the web UI of the device it actually shows that it's cloud connected and even the logs show that it's connected and yet for some reason it will not show up on a full network scan at all.
  7. i have the firmware updated to the latest. I have it on the same network as an EA5 and the EA5 can see it and connect to it via SDDP no problem. I don't see anywhere in composer where it shows that i can clear registration, etc. any hints you can give me?
  8. I know this is an old thread, but i am having the same issue with a recently acquired wattbox 800 and i already called SnapAV and they said it might just be a defective unit (out of warranty of course) and that it appears that the unit has never checked into the server (which they found unusual) wondering if anyone had some tips/tricks that might get this on my OVRC account. The web interface works fine, and i can add it to my C4 project without any issue. @msgreenf did SnapAV do something on their end to get it working or did they have you do something on your side?
  9. I had looked at that briefly and it seems to be a pretty nice product and also appears to support 2gig sensors as well. how is it for reliability / stability?
  10. I currently have 2gig GC3 for my alarm system, being monitored through ADC. the 2 gig stuff works "pretty good" and i am 80% happy with it but it does not integrate with C4 so i have 2 questions: 1) is there a better / newer / more reliable alarm system that integrates with C4 and ADC? 2) if not, is there a better ADC compatible system than the 2gig that i am using now I have been considering using something like a spare lutron switch that is connected to power but no load to simulate a relay that turns on and off when the alarm arms/disarms to create an avenue for C4 integration but that seems a little kludgey and i would prefer a more professional streamlined approach thoughts? opinions?
  11. do you still have this?
  12. you put the pump on the hot pipe coming from the water heater. it circulates hot water to all of the faucets giving nearly instant hot water this is the one that i had bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E78XHG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
  13. I think there is also value to this driver for those who have cats, young children, or special needs people in their home.
  14. I had this issue too, then i had a recirculating pump installed on my hot water heater. Nearly instant hot water. best purchase i ever made.
  15. I have it setup as a docker container as well and haven't had much time to play with it, but i do use it for a few simple tasks that seem to work better than C4. I have it use my Nest doorbell to trigger my front porch lights if it is after dark I also find the timers for my lutron lighting to work a little more effectively using HA rather than C4 I am trying to see how much i can shift my C4 stuff to HA but just haven't had enough time to dedicate to it yet
  16. So, I switched over to the Lutron Leap Driver for my Caseta system. This seemed like a good idea since it is the latest driver with enhanced functionality. However, it's not great. I don't like it, and i'm not sure if the Non-Leap drivers are even still available. My main issue right now that maybe someone can help with: the Pico remotes are no longer programmable, and i need to be able to add programming to the buttons. if anyone can figure this out it would be greatly appreciated. And i even tried all of the action buttons in the pico menu to no avail.
  17. OK, so I am replacing my VSSL amps, which had a chrome cast audio instance for each zone. I liked this. but the Control4 experience with them is lacking. So i find out that Snap has an alternative in the form of Episode stream boxes which will do an audio casting stream for android, with a robust C4 driver. Perfect. My initial plan was to buy a box for each zone that I want to be able to cast to - plugged into my AudioControl matrixing amps.. This would work, in theory, without any issues. The problem is - that's a lot of boxes. at least 8 or 9. This makes for a potentially confusing cast list, a nightmare of rack cable management, and maybe $1800 in tiny little cast boxes. I'll do it if i have to. But then i got to thinking, instead of doing that, could i get away with maybe just 2 boxes, routed into the C4 Controller inputs (EA5). I could easily name them Cast1 and Cast2 and then manually select that as the source before i cast. the only problem with this strategy is that it isn't as clean of a user experience. So I am wondering how I could implement this a little better. For instance, each box could have a default room so that way the 2 areas i would use it most would automatically default there. My theory is that I could do some programming to say "if no zones are actively using this box when it starts streaming audio, then make it the audio source for the living room" or something along those lines what i would REALLY like to be able to do is to find a way to trigger the stream to the room i want a little more automatically. I sense that there might be a way to do this or at least close to that solution. anyone with any ideas or concepts for this that might work?
  18. I have done this in my home. I have a few C4 switches to trigger double and triple tap scenes, and also to carry the zigbee mesh around. More and more though, i am considering replacing the C4 switches with lutron and adding in wall mounted Pico remotes for areas where i want a scene to be executed. I have used the picos to do this in one room and i think i prefer it over the triple tap solution
  19. I have full strength showing on everything in that room, and probably only 15 linear feet (one floor below) from the actual AP. I am not really that sure that it's a signal issue and there are no wifi APs between the ZB antenna and that room, they are all on the opposite side of the home
  20. yeah my plan was always used for this experiment
  21. assuming the EA1 is hardwired via ethernet, would i need to have a separate server? wouldn't it act as an extension of the existing network? I am not sure my zigbee is rusty
  22. well, i guess for the $100 or so that a EA1 would cost me, it might be worth trying it as an experiment then.
  23. I haven't tried it but the delays are mostly SR260 related. The exception to that is an occasional delay with double tapping the light switch in the room. that action only fires a few basic events: turn on lights to 50%, turn on projector / Pre/pro and then after 2 minutes ramp the lights to off. pretty basic maneuver. but 1 time out of 50 it will pause for a second or two before doing all of that.
  24. yes, that was my initial thought. Like if someone uses the Microwave in the kitchen, it's a problem for the remote. So that was my initial thought, BUT it's only a matter of time before the HALO remote becomes the more obvious choice and that is wifi i believe so that would make this EA1 a moot point. there also seems to be an intermittent delay our outright failure with the PJlink commands sent to my projector but i haven't been able to verify if that is a C4 issues, chowmain pjlink driver issue, or projector issue. I am thinking it is the projector because typically if I go to edit the IP, (but don't actually edit it) and then apply the changes (which haven't actually changed) it seems to be fine after that
