  5. A driver for Hydrawise is just around the corner and we're looking for a few beta testers to help us find any remaining issues that we may have missed. If you're interested in doing some beta testing please PM us. We do offer a bug bounty, so if you plan on doing an install with Hydrawise this may be good way to get a cheap version of the driver. For each valid bug you submit you will earn a stacking 15% discount off the purchase of the driver. Check out the images below to see what integration looks like with Hydrawise.
  6. Chowmain - Internet Weather Forecast Drivers The Forecast.io service provides free (upto 1000 calls per day) weather data and forecast. Forecast.io is backed by a wide range of data sources, which are aggregated together statistically to provide the most accurate forecast possible for a given location. The OpenWeatherMap service provides free weather data and forecast API suitable for any cartographic services like web and smartphones applications. Ideology is inspired by OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia that make information free and available for everybody. OpenWeatherMap provides wide range of weather data such as map with current weather, week forecast, precipitation, wind, clouds, data from weather Stations and many others. Weather data is received from global Meteorological broadcast services and more than 40 000 weather stations. The Chowmain Forecast.io and OpenWeatherMap drivers brings all of this data into Control4 for use in the home automation system. This is useful for automating services within the home based upon the external environment. Note that this is not a replacement for a personal weather station. We recommend utilising Extra Vegetables Cumulus Weather Stations or WeatherHawk weather station drivers/hardware if you require accurate readings as this provides accurate real time local weather information. Humidifiers can be turned on automatically if it is going to be a dry day,Towel rails can be turned on if its going to be a humid dayIf it is going to be a hot and sunny day, close the shutters to shut the heat outIf it is hotter indoors than it is outdoors and the wind direction is facing the motorised windows then open the windows. If it is going to be a hot day turn on the ACIf it is going to rain don’t automatically water the garden (I would also put in some additional logic to ensure that it will water the garden if it is extremely hot and if it hasn’t watered the garden in X amount of days). If it is going to be a cloudy day and the customer has solar then don’t turn on the smart appliances until tomorrow. Are there any other cool things we can do with this driver? Combine with our Advanced Announcements driver to read the weather forecast out in the morning. What hardware will this work on? This will work on any Control4 controller running oS 2.2 or later. Why have two internet weather drivers? Why not? Not all internet weather information is built equally and we want to give you the option of getting one the is the most accurate for your location. One may work better in one country than the other. Two drivers for the price of one! What happens when the API changes? The beautiful thing about the extra vegetables auto-update feature is that driver updates can be pushed out to systems. No dealer intervention needed. Rest assured that should any of these services change their API we will update the driver to match. How do I find out more information about the driver? 7. As posted elsewhere, the new C4 irrigation program driver is great... it has a few bugs (that really need to be fixed): it appears that after skipping a cycle due to high rainfall, it skips future cycles... the icon does not update to off after skipping a cycle... the icon does not always update to off after running a cycle. Then, there are a few items that would hugely enhance the driver (in order of importance): A UI is an absolute must to allow for changing of run times, days etc. on all navigators. This is the biggest shortcoming of the current driver. The driver would be much better if it had transport keys (pause, resume, next zone, previous zone). The days that you irrigate should be able to be changed per zone (not just for all zones). It would be nice to have a "don't irrigate for next x days" option... There is only one "on stop" event (trigger). Ideally one wants an "on manual stop" event, an "on irrigation complete event" and an "on pause event" all separate. The latter would only be needed if pause functionality was added ;-) Ideally one would want a trigger (event) to program against should rainfall result in reduced (or no) watering... The last 3 items can be programmed around, so are nice to haves... However, the first 3 items are vital (as are fixing the 3 bugs) to making this one of the best drivers available. Copying @RyanE as I am really hopeful that C4 will make this driver even greater
  8. My dealer called me yesterday to tell me that the new C4 irrigation driver is out. He came past to install it for me this morning. I must say that it is a fantastic driver. I previously used StartHere! for my irrigation control and what had taken me 15 (or more hours) to program in StartHere! was setup and done with this driver in 15 minutes! What I had previously programmed was fairly comprehensive and the C4 driver only does 90% of it... but one would hope / assume that C4 will enhance this driver over time. Some of the main feature she include: up to 24 zones; odd day / even day or selected irrigation; manual irrigation Time can be scheduled to be any time zone run times can be set in minutes or seconds can link to a weather underground weather station and use two rainfall set points. One for no irrigation and one for reduced (you choose the percentage) irrigation. easy linking to the relevant relay and to keypads as well as a funky Experience Button with a play / stop indicator on it. All in all a great (free) driver. Shortcomings (hopefully one can read this as future enhancements) include: No UI for changing run times, days etc. This is the biggest shortcoming. The driver documentation says there is no UI yet... Presumably that means it is on its way... Some items (e.g. Scheduled start time, days on etc.) can be changed programaticlaly so one can program around this. Others cannot (e.g. Zone run times). While there is manual start and stop, there is no pause and resume. The days that you irrigate can not change per zone (one can probably use multiple drivers to deal with this, but that is messy). It would be nice to have a "don't irrigate for next x days" option... maybe that will come with the UI. Admittedly you can program around this. There is only one "on stop" event. Ideally one wants an "on manual stop" event, an "on irrigation complete event" and an "on pause event" all separate. The latter would only be needed if pause functionality was added ;-) Ideally one would want a trigger (event) to program against should rainfall result in reduced (or no) watering... admittedly one can program round this, but it is not a clean option. I will post the above (re-worded) in the wishlist section and hope that C4 reads them... I also found one apparent bug (but have not investigated further yet). I was running the irrigation program manually with 6 active zones (using 15 second run times as I was testing things). Everything worked fine but the irrigation did not stop at the end... checking the zone variable showed it was stuck on zone 22... a bit weird. I will investigate further later. @msgreenf, you will be pleased to know that between this driver and the Experience Buttons, I have now duplicated pretty much everything I used to do in StartHere! so I don't need to moan about StartHere! not being supported on the T3s anymore ;-). Now all I need is the ability to pull up a camera via a line of code and I can ditch my remaining V2s and upgrade them to T3s... one day!
  9. Hi guy's I installed recently Irrigation Caddy system. It works pretty bad for me. The control is very limited. turns on and off valves. really. no schedule, drops connection with C4 controller all the time, sluggish respond. I got some nice explanations from tech support, but I don't need explanation, I need working device. Will nether use it anymore.... Does anybody know anything about any better system for irrigation?
