Home theatre in Melbourne, Australia

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've nearly finished my home theatre and thought I'd put some pics up for you to see. So far, my C4 extends only to this room, but it's awesome and I love it! So does my wife because she can use it - and easily!

My C4 was setup by Alan Chow, who's fairly active in these parts.

The cinema design is mine. The acoustic design was done by a company here in Sydnet called Wavetrain acoustics.

I've done 99% of the work myself. the only parts I haven't done were the extension to the room (extra slab and brickwork, and laying the carpet. Everything else I did (with the help of friends along the way)

Pics are a bit crappy as they're just off my phone...

My equipment list is as follows:

Speakers (LCR) - Krix X series 'Pix'

Speakers (surround) Krix X series 'megaphonix' custom builds

Projector - JVC HD750

Screen - Oz Theatre Screens Majestic. 135in with AT fabric

Masking system - Aspect Masking (this is my masking that I design and build. Not in these pics as I haven't built it yet)

Oppo BD93 BD player with pro-mod kit

Integra DHC-80.3

Elektra TheatronHD power amp

Qnap TS-209 NAS

Qnap TS-419 NAS

C4 HC-300 controller

C4 Serial extender

The room has 6 lighting circuits;

Screen bulkhead downlights

Bulkhead downlights

Bulkhead LED strip lighting

LED front task lights

LED rear task lights

Step LED strip lighting

It's a lot of circuits, but gives me fantastic control over lighting scenes in the room!

Things left to do;

Build masking system

build fabric panels for walls to cover acoustic treatments

finish off projector hush box.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks Gary,

it's not finished yet, but it's getting there. I made the first fabric panel to cover the acoustic treatments last night. Lots more to go though...

Cheers,

Chris
