cougarcruiser
I've moved, and had to update some hardware that has run on IR control. The adhesive isn't sticking well to the gear because the tape/adhesive they use isn't sticky anymore.Anyone know where one can purchase new adhesive? is it as simple as some double sided tape? I'd rather not try clear silicon or hot glue. tape is my preference. Was thinking of something like this:http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Heavy-Duty-Mounting-Clear/dp/B00004Z4BU/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1380291451&sr=8-7&keywords=3m+double+sided+tape

Cyknight
Either of the two option above work well and are easily cleaned, but the M3/scotch "sponge" double adhesive works well too and leaves no residue. The one you mention there is perhaps too strong and on removal may leave residue that's hard to come off or rip out IR windows etc.
CFUG
^I hope you aren't talking about Scotch 4008 or similar. That ain't right...Scotch 136 is something a HO could use. Installers should be using hot glue (no waiting and it won't get accidentally repositioned by kids).
control4guy
I typically use clear silicone with scotch blue painters tape for delicate surfaces, it's always worked great. I prefer that over hot glue myself.

thecodeman
These really are the coolest things and work great. Not sure if they sell directly or where you might be able to get some. http://www.boragear.com/wp/egor-tabs/
CFUG
^Oh yeah, I completely forgot about those. Some installer left a pack of those here and they got shoved in a corner of the rack room. They didn't use them for some reason though. I'll have to try those
