pstuart
Is your date / time correct on both systems? It has a tolerance of about 5 mins out of sync.
Gary Leeds UK
Checked MYHOME time and that is correct, checked the router an that as the same time and date. So i guess they are correct. Check my control4 account and that looks OK. Any other ideas ????
Cyknight
The whole message may seem confusing/elaborate, but means no more or less than that Composer cannot connect to director. To check time on the system, it's best to use either a C4 tscreen or a remote, not the apps.Beyond time and date, other possible things causing this:-If either the controller or the director have a wrong (or different) gateway or subnet mask. This can happen on a router change. Myhome on the same computer may still be able to reach in this scenario-The router is actually down or for some reason disconnected from the controller (controller may continue to work in general and even connect to other devices if on a separate network switch). MyHome on the same PC wills top working however.-For some reason controller cannot connect to the internet - and therefor the timeserver. As the system does keep track time may still seem accurate but behind the 'mask' it's not synching. A reboot should have fixed that though, or at least shown you a completely wrong time to point to this issue.-SSL password was changed on the controller - you would likely know this. It SHOULD prompt you for a password but sometimes this gets messed up due to controller listing in Composer. Re-install of composer usually fixes this.-Sometimes Composer get's antsy - and needs to be uninstalled and re-installed (this could have effect on on a ME and HE at the same time - you could try just installing ME again for a quick test. Cyknight
Any chance you're using mismatched versions of ME/HE vs system software?
Cyknight
Should he be? Assuming you're not blocking him yes, but not sure what he would be able to do except perhaps say that his composer can/can't connect.
Gary Leeds UK
Just looking for fix. Looking at buying a new amp, so will need to get the dealer out (sony 5800es) to set up.If the dealer can not connect, will he need to reset the HC250 and rebuild or will I need to buy a new one ?? Gary Leeds UK
Yes tried on my work lap top. It will stop me playing with programming - that will make my wife happy !!
Cyknight
With the system up and running, I strongly suspect it's nothing too major causing this so I wouldn't panic on that. Did you try using ME from more than one computer? that would be telling to see if the issue is not just with the Composer Program.

Gary Leeds UK
Just gone into setting and it says navigator IP address 192.168.0.28 and director IP address 127.0.0.1 Could this be my problem - if so how do I sort ?????
ILoveC4
What says that? When you boot Composer it connects to the Director, not the Navigator. Aside from being able to connect, does the system work?
Gary Leeds UK
System works great - I even have both navigator and Director having the same IP address now after playing about with myhome PC. Total lost !!!!I think i`m "grasping at straws"
ILoveC4
No two devices should have the same IP address....EDIT: Is the box running Director ALSO running Navigator? If so, that would make sense?
