mstafford388
Anyone find a way to integrate one yet? I know on the PS2 (and 3 i think) you could use the IR to usb controller adapter. Has anyone found a way to integrate the 4?

CFUG
Boy, if Control4 (or someone pimping C4) can figure this out, I'd be impressed. Aside from Apple, Sony can bite me.
BillDawg1974
If the ps4 is like the ps3, where the controllers are bluetooth. A company called Schmartz makes a box that allows you to control a ps3 with ir. and even has a discrete on and off command. but you have to use a URC mx remote to learn it into the C4 Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk

BillDawg1974
Then you should be able to pair the schmartz just like the ps3 Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk

Cyknight
Look even closer, schmartz went out of business as of January this year. There won't be any solution from them. As it stands, it seems that if any form of [something] to bluetooth or [something] to usb is to work, there will have to be an update from Sony first as there is no device support for on/off there at all - and any hack that uses the IP interface is not going to live long if not made with Sony's blessing - it'd likely go down ever or every update as the API is still constantly changing. Yes it may get updated every time as well - but it would hardly make for a reliable option. You'll have to bang Sony's door for this one for the time being it seems. Nick Brubaker
I believe there is remote support to the ps4 just there has not been one released... The other day I was on the home screen of the ps4 and was trying to adjust something with the tv remote (Samsung f8500 touchpad remote) when all of a sudden it started to control the ps4 and I have been controlling movies and screens on the ps4 every day since. Haven't gotten a chance to try and get it to work in c4 as its not used in the system. Just shows that the system can be controlled by a remote. Lol Sony product but Samsung remote works

Can't find anyone else on the Internet doing it.Edit: after that I found a load it uses the hdmi-cec.
turls
Ok, so if it uses HDMI-CEC, does that open up a window for Control4 integration since there may be a C4 driver (hopefully IP) controlling the device that is sending those HDMI-CEC commands? Nick Brubaker
It may be possible but unlikely because the device would likely not pass the code back to the ps4 from the c4 remote. Due to the fact that c4 would be trying to output those commands to a receiver. Because the ps4 in most systems would not be directly connected to a tv
Cyknight
Yes, there is some CEC option there - but handling that would need to be done by a 3rd party, such as JAP or HydraConnect HDMI matrix option - which is something that could be then controlled from C4 (much like there is already CEC control over some devices from HydraConnect matrix switches incorporated into Control4). And what the heck does the C4 remote have to do with anything in this? That's just an interface device. If the controller can talk to the device doing CEC, it can tell the device to send those CEC codes to the source/tv, and the device can tell the controller how it turned out. Nick Brubaker
That's what I ment was the controller and not the remote
Cyknight
There's no reason you cant have Control4 make use of CEC control - it doesn't do it natively, but it's already being done with 3rd party devices, just like bluetooth for PS3 before, Z-Wave integration and others. That it's been done only in limited numbers so far is because CEC isn't nearly as standardized as it should be.
