Bfitzgerald.crescendo
I have an HC1000v2 running 2.5.3 and out of no where, director resets itself after approx 5 hours. I know the reset because I have a notification go out when the "Project" is loaded. Today alone it has reset 4 times. I first noticed this while I was watching TV and the SR250 said that the room was off, but the TV was on and I was still watching it. I tried logging the processor. Only problem with that is when it resets, the log is gone. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Bfitzgerald.crescendo
Nope. Pretty simple and un-utilized network besides Sonos and my control4.
Godzilla
ever run the DOM patch?
Bfitzgerald.crescendo
There was only that 1 Dom patch a few years ago right? As long as it wasn't a new one, I definitely ran that one. Guess it couldn't hurt to run it again.
RyanE
btsync is reported to cause Director to restart as you're saying. Also, you may want to verify that any 3rd party drivers (EV, etc.) are up-to-date, but I can't imagine one of those causing a restart so often. Bfitzgerald.crescendo
All of my EV drivers are up to date. What is btsync and how does that affect the Controller?
Cyknight
btsync is an alternative way to access/backup information off site (vs cloud storage) - ie you have a nas or computer at home and btsync allows you to see and use those docs from your laptop and so on while on the road, backup office files at home....google it if you want more info. What it does from a C4 standpoint is it sends out a lot of badly formed packages onto the network, causing the 'director' process to shut down and restart. You'll find you CONTROLLER isn't rebooting as such, it's just the 'director' process (which is of course what actually loads and handles the actual project). 5 Hours is a far longer interval than those I've seen though - they were more like every 5-30 minutes. Bfitzgerald.crescendo
I spoke with Control4. They sent a patch out for Tunein a while back and realized that it was causing an issue with any director running the EV Sonos driver. They've been pulling that patch on the controllers that this was affecting. Mine has been solid for a day now with no resets.

They've been pulling that patch on the controllers that this was affecting. Mine has been solid for a day now with no resets. Technically, it was causing an issue with any system, period. It's just that our driver used up the resources that caused the crash quicker. But yes, C4 have resolved this, and done it very quickly, so hats off to them. dgbrown
It would be great if my.control4.com listed patches and dates they were applied so system owners know what and when their system has been updated.
