STORYLINE
Hi Folks! I'm a design ethnographer, working for Storyline LLC, a New Hampshire-based design research consultancy. We've been hired by a major industry player to do some in-home research on high end home automation systems like those being discussed here. If you're interested in giving a professional R&D team of designers and engineers a tour of your home, showing off your high end automation system and having your time compensated then this study is likely for you. We'll be headed to the following metro regions in the month of May so the time to reach out to us to take part in this unique R&D initiative is now! - Atlanta, GA- Tampa, FL- Los Angeles / San Diego, CA- Dallas / Houston, TX Reply to this posting or contact me directly for more information on the NH based consultancy, background of the study, timing, compensation, etc. It's a great R&D opportunity to engage directly with the designers and engineers who help shape these solutions! Thanks y'all!Pete

smccray
Control4 hired you?? You said "major player" My guess is Savant based on geography. Pete- do you plan to share the final deliverable with research participants? I'm in Dallas.
STORYLINE
Pete- do you plan to share the final deliverable with research participants? I'm in Dallas.Great question. Actual physical deliverables will likely be client-audience only but participants who take part in our ethnographic work are always well connected with the themes of the initiative, the aggregate results and with this project there is even a chance to get an additional invite to a co-creation workshop at the client's HQ. So this is a pretty in-depth experience.

Ha, I'm under NDA here so I have to dance a LITTLE bit. Question was can we share the "final deliverable"? Short answer is no, you can't have a PDF copy of the secret plans. texas3622
What are you defining as "high end"?
RyanE
Doesn't make a ton of sense to have them having been hired by Control4, since Control4 already knows what you can do with a Control4 system, and if they want to know what cool things have been / are being done, they normally would just ask their dealers. STORYLINE
What are you defining as "high end"? Currently we're defining "high end" as automation systems that hit on a number of key descriptors such as "professionally installed", "home wide", "fully automated", etc. And to a lesser degree we are considering home value, system value as well as annual household income. Hope that helps,Pete
