I just ordered an ICS-1.  A very expensive sprinkler controller.  MSRP is 1k!!!!! Let's see how much money it saves be with it's watering algorithms.

Wow, you got a deal, MSRP is more like $1499. Please keep us posted on how it works.

I checked online and saw MSRP is 999.   I did receive and install the controller.  So far a total disappointment.  My issues so far:

1. I am not sure why the box is so freakin huge to begin with.

2. The controller will NOT get a DHCP address for some reason.  I tried rebooting several times and nothing.  I manually changed my laptop to the same range and the controller and logged in.  There is no place to change to a static address.  I tried to reboot again and still no luck.

3. If you check my thread on the troubleshooting section, you will see the ICS-ONE driver causes a 2.6 system to completely freeze after a few hours.   So until an update is made, I cannot use it with c4.

4. So far very disappointed.  I tried the irrigation caddy and that was another piece of junk.  The app does not work at all with the device and firmware updates are a nightmare.

5. Lastly, the biggest disappointment, there is a cost to the subscription for weather based water.  Their whole pitch is to save you money by adjusting watering based on weather.  The cost of this subscription alone is not worth it.  I doubt I will save money in watering by paying for the stupid subscription.

So far, I have a 1000 dollar paper weight.  I plan to return the unit if I don't get resolution tomorrow.  At this point, I would NOT recommend this product to ANYONE.

Ouch. Am glad you at least located the source of your 2.6 sorrows.

Not to state the obvious but with no DHCP, did you check the network cable?

If it's bad, it could be casuing at least some of your issues, it could also explain why the driver is freezing your system (contant error eventually bogging down your system).

The android and ios app works perfectly fine. Dont use the 4store app. its pointless. You can bind sprinklers to each zone of the IC and have them show up on ALL C4 interfacesThe firmware takes 30 seconds to update. What exact issue did you have? What model IC do you have?

Unfortunately the IC app isn't iOS8 compatible yet.  The C4 app store app has a much nicer interface than now going into the thermostat area to control the sprinklers...too bad it no longer works.

Hello all,

We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused everyone concerned. We have identified the problem between the ICS-ONE firmware version (12.5.0) and the Control4 software version 2.6. According to our programmers this is what happened:

Version 12.5.0 included an upgrade to some fundamental components of the system that improve load time and performance of the overall system. One of those dependencies had deprecated a portion that the ICS-ONE Control4 integration relied upon.

The deprecation was not well-documented by its author, and therefore, was not reported as part of the upgrade - rendering the Control4 driver not capable of communicating with the ICS-ONE. This issue has been resolved by modifying the code to work with the newly introduced component of the dependent library.

The net result of the above was that our update effectively barred communication between the ICS-ONE and any Control4 system running software version 2.6. It is important to note that irrigation functionality and the user’s ability to communicate with the ICS-ONE via internet access are unaffected by this issue.

We are currently testing a software patch in our development environment which resolves this problem. We plan on pushing an update to all internet-connected ICS-ONE units this Friday (7 November 2014). This update is automatic; it does not require input from end users or C4 installers.

Before the update processes, all registered ICS-ONE users will receive an email explaining the purpose of the update and when it will take place.

Again we apologize for this issue. We are working diligently to provide a quality product  for the home automation market and are constantly attempting to make improvements based on comments and input from people like those here at C4forums . If anyone would like further information, or needs any other support, please email me directly at dkennedy@bit-usa.com.

Sincerely,

Daniel Kennedy,
