macshack
Is it possible to use the C4 dimmer as a switch instead of a dimmer? Any disadvantage other then cost? How about using multiple dimmers on a 3 way setup instead of using 1 dimmer and 2 switches? Thank You
RyanE
It is not recommended (nor supported at all with the latest generation dimmers) to use a Control4 dimmer as a switch. If you have a non-dimmable load, you should use a Control4 *switch* on that load. As far as 3 way wiring situations, you should have a single dimmer or switch, and *keypads* on the non-load boxes. If you mean can you use a dimmer or switch as a *keypad*, while it's possible, it's also not recommended, as dimmers / switches have more electronics in the wall box, create more heat, and are less configurable than keypads. jerrywolf
What about a keypad dimmer as a switch? As far as I can tell there isn't a such thing as a "Keypad Switch"?
South Africa C4 user
This does seem to be something that is missing in the C4 line up!
