jaubry71
Does it really matter what HDMI matrix is connected?I need a 4x4 but the cost from the dealer is higher then I anticipated. Thanks Johnny
cdepaola
You do not need to use a control4 matrix however different matrixes will have varying degrees of performance and features. Additionally integration may or may not be as easy or complete. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
c4user3622
I have an Atlona matrix - works great. I bought online and dealer installed it. It's just a question of them making the connections in pro.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ILoveC4
Atlona is good. Wyrestorm is good. Binary by Snap A/V is good. On top of that, all those companies really stand behind their products.
Cyknight
Does it matter - absolutely. Are there lots of choices - absolutely. Control4LeafWyrestormAtlonaBinaryJustAddPowerAvenviewand more... I will say, don't cheap out on the quality of your HDMI switch and/or distribution, and it will not be 'cheap' - if it is your experience will be. Mileage certainly do vary, I've ripped out every Atlona but one so far (older models mind you) due to failures, I've replaced nearly every single Binary 300 series switch too. That said, as Dan mentioned - in every scenario the manufacturer took part of the - let's call it effort. In the end, I wouldn't recommend AGAINST any of the above list, though I have my choices on which I don't recommend on personal experience. I STRONGLY suggest that whatever you use, use HDBaseT or a specialty IP solution (JustAddPower/VideoStorm) for the distribution end, and not some vague "over CAT5/6" option.Every time we've installed some 'budget' version for HDMI (usually client supplied or a few overzealous sales guys' mishaps early on) it's lead to issues, dissapointment and usually replacement. ILoveC4
Yeah, the binary B300 units suck. Go B100 or B500. If you must extend over category cable use HDBaseT.
jaubry71
Dan H has a Binary unit for sale. I'll pick it up from him. Seems to meet the needs and fits the budget
