What can an end user expect to gain from 2.7?

From a consumer perspective, it's nice to know what margins a dealer is working with on some of the products, so there can be knowledgable negotiating on purchases.

"08:15 Want additional margin? You got it.

Our entire new line of touch screens are now priced with 50% dealer margin! This is a huge opportunity for you! We are giving you the margin you need to be successful, when combined with the products and solutions we are producing."

2.7 will fix a few issues, one in particular is multiple Sonos into a central switch.

There's the much nicer interface for HVAC control if you use ANY t-stat.

New options for intercom (not all of it depends on the new screens at all!)

There's general minor interface improvements, there's a few bigger interface improvements (no I won't elaborate at this point).

Beyond that, I THINK the only item up for grabs on how (well?) it continues to work in 2.7 is the old LCD 10 Keypad unit, nothing else is being dropped so there's no real hinderance there.

Is there a HUGE reason to push for 2.7 from 2.6 (ignoring new hardware that is) - it will depend on your situation. There seems to be no real reason to NOT do it either at this point, other than possibly thinking 'don't mess with what works'.

Simply put - I'll start building in 2.7 from release and likely update existing 2.6 to 2.7 as I go (or from pre 2.6 if there's no hardware limitations if I hadn;t gotten to it yet).

Push Notification Agent •

Installers/Programmers or Customers who purchased Composer HE, can now configure Push Notifications that carry information about category and severity. These notifications are delivered to the customer based on their push notification preferences, which they can configure at customer.control4.com. Push Notifications are supported on iOS and Android mobile devices.

should be fun

Walts - can you provide 1-2 "real life scenarios" on why and how one could use this feature?

This can be used similar to the e-mail notification agents but with more specific Alerts and easier viewing.  Have a few test ones for lights in my home that are not normally used, and they trigger push notifications when turned on. I can read the notification in full from my lock screen and my Android wear LG G Watch.

They have added categories and severity that allow each user to customize what notifications you receive.

Have a motion detector trigger in a secure area? Push notification for you to check your cameras.

Kids entered their unlock code and are now home.

Garage door is opened.

Security armed or disarmed.

Any information you would like to be updated on is at your fingertips as little or as much as you could want.

Thanks - though a bit confused.  Right now when my housekeeper comes over using her code I get a text message.  If my alarm is deactivated in a few different scenarios I get a text message too.  Seems like these can be done now, so wondering what is the technical difference I guess with a push notification vs the text message I get right now?

text message agent is likely being used through the email notification agent.

The best is the access control to on the fly allow or deny of notifications dependant on type and severity.

Format is cleaner with nice control4 graphics and colors.

So there are at least 2 3rd party push notification drivers already, can you do everything with the new built in one that those do?  Because for push notifications I'd much rather use native C4.  Don't need another layer to be an issue.  All the 3rd party ones depend on yet another app.

Not personally familiar with any of the third party apps. The Notification feature seems to be fairly straight forward. Have a trigger event, send a customized notification. Then select which devices receive notifications and your ready to get notified!

I'm performing the update now, and am curious to know more about this notification agent. Do these notifications come in to the MyHome app? Via email? How are they delivered?

Also, these require 4Sight subscription, correct?

They are push notifications to your device. And show up as pushes to the MyHome app

I would hate to jinx it, but I also have been having a much faster connection on my mobile devices. would generally have a connection time 5-15 seconds when first opening the app and 3-5 when already opened and refreshes. now on open longest been has been about 5 seconds and refreshes appear to be instant.
