dlortie Posted August 1, 2015 Share Posted August 1, 2015 Hi, I have a CS thermostat that has started to reset continuously (screen flicker, shuts off and starts the air conditioner). The date on the thermostat in the top left corner will initially show the correct date, but then it will show 5/20/2003 or 10/3/2000. Very strange. Cyknight Posted August 1, 2015 Share Posted August 1, 2015 You mean a C4 Thermostat? There's a possibility the battery is low. In some (rare) cases (usually relating to older HVAC or HVAC issues) yoiu NEED to have a battery even for a powered thermostat. What happens is that when the thermostat kicks in heat or cool, there's a brief powerdrop. At that point the battery 'saves' the situation, but with a drained battery, it will cause the T-stat to turn off, which then turns back on, possibly kicks in heat or cool and so on. Cyknight Posted August 7, 2015 Share Posted August 7, 2015 Are you running on a COM wire> (ie is there a wire to the TS/C terminal on the Touchscreen)?Or are is the switch on the back set to powerstealing?Or both? - Which is then likely the problem and you need to turn off powerstealing immediately! Better you call an air conditioner technician AC repair new jersey as you have tried the battery recommendation. The technicians will help you to get the best solution for your problem.
