Thermostat incorrect with vacation on Android

Recommended Posts

I was using my Android phone and viewing my home system on the portable app and noticed the other day when I was out of town, when my house C4 thermostat is in vacation mode, the temperature is shown as incorrect and the vacation setting is not reflected in the on screen view.  I double checked my vacation setting and that is correct and in fact the thermostat itself shows the correct numbers when I tested it.  This appears to be a bug.

So my temp setting currently is 60 for cold, 80 for heat at this time of year.

With Vacation mode it's showing 59 for both settings and the Fan as on, and vacation mode is not checked.  In reality, the thermostat is actually set for 59 cold and 81 heat.

This creates a problem obviously because I'm panicking that my air conditioning is set for 59 degrees when in reality it's at 81 where it should be when no one is in the house.

I've attached screenshots.

an update:

Mark,

Thank you for contacting Control4 app Support,

I was able to set
this up and test it at my desk. You are correct, it does look like a bug in our
navigator processes.
I have written this up as a bug and we will address it as
soon as we can.

Thanks,

Do people still have this issue?

I'm incredibly frustrated with vacation mode and thermostat info on the apps. I use the Android app, composer and the windows app (via a browser) to access a remote cabin.  They all show different things!  But in general vacation mode doesn't stick

The android app doesn't have a vacation mode , so I can't enable it from there, and it just shows some bogus value and the heat or cool indicators go away so can't tell what mode the heater is in or it resets to the schedule and shows the programmed temp from that.   The windows access doesn't work either - it has  avacation mode but if I set it from there it goes to 41F all the time which isn't even a value I use anywhere.

Composer lets me see what mode everything is in and what its set to but when I access the house via any other tool the information is inaccurate or it resets it from vacation mode back to the "regular schedule".

I have an HC 250 running 2.5.3 and use the android app for that.

How do I get vacation mode to work?

If you update to the latest OS (2.8.2), most (if not all) of these problems go away. The thermostat control had a major upgrade in 2.6.0 (or was it 2.7.0) which made it much much better. There have also been some bug fixes since then.
