sji
Wondering if I might get some help from the community over the weekend since i can't reach my dealer until monday: We have a whole house audio/video system 5 years old with distribution rack with HC1000 controller and second HC300. Had a blackout on our street for a few hours today and when power came back the system seems to have crashed. The remotes say waiting for network. The touchpanels in each room run through diagnostics when reset but get stuck "connecting". I have turned all the components on and off - the audio and HDMI distribution matrix seem OK. The HC1000 has the blue power light but the data and link lights are not on. Internet to the house works. I am worried its the HC1000 as he cause of the problem. Should the data and link LEDs be on? Any other diagnostics I can do over the weekend before my dealer can get out? Thanks for the advice.
d1amund
Well... Power everything off, including your network modem, router, switch. Power on modem...wait 10-15 mins for it to train on the WAN. Power on router...wait 10-15 mins for it to fully boot. Power on switches and access points if they exist. Power on your HC1000...wait 10 mins. Power on your HC300...wait, yah let's say 10 mins Power on touchpanels if they haven't already been powered via a network switch. Do they boot? If not, do a network reset on your HC1000 via: 1 - Unplug power 2 - Hold down ID button 3 - Plug power in while holding ID button 4 - Hold ID button until Data and Link lights come on solid together 5. Let go before those lights turn off. If you miss it start over.
