jp97
I recently purchased an Echo Dot and apparently need to upgraded to at least 2.8 and purchase a 4sight subscription to be able to integrate it with my Control4 system. Is it possible for the upgrade to be done remotely? Also, thought I saw on Control4 site that upgrades can be set to upgrade automatically - is this true? msgreenf
The c4 set upgrade automatically is for emergency patches only. Not major system upgrades. As for the upgrade from 2.5.3 to 2.8, it could be done remotely but that is a big upgrade and depending on your hardware, may require new hardware
Matt Lowe
OS update and Driver updates are separate components. there are drivers that can update automatically. OS updates rewrite the firmware of the controller so if an issue arises it can cause complete loss of the system.
knowitall
Depends on what processor you have as well. Need a 250 or above
knowitall
But better left to on site upgrade. A lot of better drivers are available and be tough to configure a lot of IP stuff remotely

My dealer has never seen my install in person. When doing major upgrades we plug my laptop into wired lan and he teamsters onto it. Then he is virtually on site. knowitall
I guess if you're willing to assist. I mean, you can't put an Apple TV on static ip remotely. Can't ID zigbee remotely. Can't properly test remotely. Bit it if you've had success awesome! My luck everything would crash
