Wall ac

I am wondering can I pull a ir wire to my wall ac and teach Control4 to control it? Better yet can I use a zigbee to ir to achieve this? Then I could I do some progamkng to make it work of my thermostat?

Thatguy230, do you have a wall device that is IR controlled? If so, both of you ideas will work.

If you are talking about a standard wall outlet, then you will still need a device to plug into the wall that can be controlled via Ir or other method like wifi or zigbee.

For the cost of an z2ir device, I would but the control4 outlet switch. That way it is supported and capable of switching two outlets.

Of course this is assuming you do not have an IR device already.

Thx Vince. It's a 220v wall outlet. The ac in my office I just put a on off switch on the outlet and that works great. The easiest route for me would be to use the zigbee to ir cuz I could pull a cat6 thru my attic and mount the zigbee to ir on the ceiling? Does that sound correct? Also how difficult would it be for my dealer to write a driver? Thanks again.

I want to make sure we're on the same page.is it possible for you to share a photo of your outlet and switch. Also, drivers are simple and difficult. Depends on the complexity and what specifically needs to be written. Would love to advise further, just need a little bit more information.

The office I was just pointing out that's how I got it to work. I wasn't clear. The ac I'm trying to make work is in my dining room/ living room. The dining room ac has an ir remote but has a 220 wall plug so a c4 outlet switch wouldn't work for me.

OK, so there is another product other than Zig we die our module that may work better. Is it we die our module you can stick to the side of your air conditioning unit and use an IR but placed directly in front of the receiver. However, if this is not possible or what you deem as ugly. Then another option is a product on the house logic's website that is an IR blaster. You could very easily mount that to the ceiling or on the table and it has 360° I are blasting that works very well over large distances

This is the device. Requires power and a cat5 from network. You can also use a Poe injector on rack end and a Poe splitter at the device end as well for single cat wiring.

We have various Split System HVAC solutions.

If you have a Daikin HVAC system my recommendation is this - http://www.chowmainsoft.com/daikin-wifi

For all others you can use this - http://www.chowmainsoft.com/generic-ir-thermostat-driver

We also have another solution coming in a few months which will expand our offerings for HVAC.

I have a regular old wall unit with an ir remote. That's why Vince was suggesting using the ir blaster. In theory I really only need it to turn on and off because I already have a c4 thermostat in that room.

Will you ever make a Fahrenheit version?
