For this kind of application Wemo Insight is the cheapest and easiest to install for this solution.

I could plug a wall oven into a wemo?  If wemo goes bad I can’t easily plug/unplug it.  Given its a built in unit I do not mind a higher cost item that works.  The steam generator will be easy to reach so a wemo could work too just like the humidity tag idea.

I believe the Wemo units are rated at 15amp. I have also seen that some have fried with higher amps (up to 15). I'm not sure of the percentage of failures. Could be a small number.

This is going to be a built in wall oven with cabinets around it.  Not sure I want to trust a wemo is going to hold up.  Or if I have to reboot it I can’t.  I’ve had some flakey wemos already that needed to be unplugged.   The kitchen is above an electric subpanel so easy to put oven on its own breaker so hoping for something maybe in the breaker box to monitor?

switching topics but would look for gas monitoring too for gas stove and outdoor grill!

I would not put a Wemo on an oven. Smart choice.

Ok, if we have electric and gas I am sure you are going to ask about water next. In this case take a look at:

https://www.ekmmetering.com/remote-water-and-or-gas-metering-package.html

They offer meters for water and gas and have a push to cloud product.  Might was well roll the whole thing up with multiple gas meters plus power and water.

Can you roll this into c4?

In Australia Wemos are rated to 240v 10amps so i wouldn't put it on an oven.  10 amps is good for most things.  For examples my wife has a hair curling iron that she loves that i am paranoid will burn down the house one day.  So i have a wemo that automatically power cycles it after 15 minutes of use resetting it to the default standby mode so its ready to use again.

Wife doesn't even notice i've done it which is the best part.

Don't see why you couldn't. It can do the cloud thing, but can also log locally or you can query a meter. Either way you can access the data. Keep in mind that the gas meters should always be located outdoors in a well ventilated area.

I guess I’d have to ask my dealer.  If I see a c4 driver, relays or ifttt I can wrap my head around integration.  When I hit goodnight I’d want to know if there is gas going to the stove because it was left on etc.  don’t need control just monitoring

Any updates in the last year?

Getting ready to select a unit to replace failed generator.

Would love as much C4 integration as I can get.

For a steam shower?  Steer far away from steamist if you want integration.  Love the unit on its own.  But the driver doesn’t work anymore with the newer steamist firmware and the team that wrote is non existent when it comes to support.  Literally for weeks my dealer and I got no response and finally they would say ok we will remote in, we gave them a few dates and no reply again for weeks.  Luckily this was with a trial license so I didn’t lose any money.  I emailed steamist and they didn’t seem to care either that the driver was broken

again the unit works great standalone.  Just not integrated into c4.

I ran audio thru c4 not their music device and I control it with a Knocki via IFTTT so I can change stations, mute etc.  I have a linen closet that shares a wall with the steam shower so the Knocki is in that linen closet.

if you get encouraging results please let me know

i gave up chasing someone to pay them money for a faulty product.  If they could not provide service when I’m a prospect I could only imagine what would happen after they had my money

I’m a month or so away from installing a Tylo heater in the sauna and Helo steam generator in my steam room at my new beach house. Both have pretty cool native apps, but I’d love to see them integrated to C4!

I have a Tylo sauna.  Where you ever able to integrate this into your control4 system.  I have a scene voice scene name called Spa that turns on lights and music in that room.  Would be great if it could also activate the sauna.

Side question: I have Schluter Ditra Heat in that room as well.  Has anyone ever integrated this into Control4?

I managed to hack together monitoring of when it is on and off and thus I do things like turn on lights 20 minutes after it turns on and turn off lights when it turns off but I couldn’t find any way to control it 😞

What thermostat are you using?  I use the Tylö sense elite control which is wifi enabled.  I wonder how hard it would be for a company like chowmein or domosapians to create a driver for it (and for Schluter ditra wifi thermostats) or if that is even possible?

I’m not sure what thermostat I have… it is wired straight into the Tylo Elite control.  I am sure someone could write a driver… I’m just not sure how much demand there is - personally, I would love a driver!
