dougw246
Did you ever find a driver to work? Are you trying to control it via IR or IP?
Matt Lowe
there is an ip driver for this in the data base it works well

Matt Lowe
maybe it was x1000 i would think it works on the
chiAVguy
I use this generic Sony IP driver for my 800 and it seems to work ok
dougw246
The Sony Blu-ray Player - Free driver worked great. That driver was running the Sony I replaced. I just swapped out the players, changed the MAC address reservation in the router and everything worked perfect. No driver changes needed. chopedogg88
anyone know if that driver works with the x800M2? I'm trying to get it working but the MAC address won't populate and I can't control it (after entering IP, and enabling Remote Start within the Sony) Kraken88 and annex⁴
dinom
I have the x800 controlled by IP and it constantly stops working. I can get it to work again by power cycling the x800 player and then works for that movie session. But usually the next day it stops again. Any ideas? Jeaus
Are you using OS3? I am finding a similar issue. But used to work well previous to OS3 update.
dinom
Yes OS3.
Marcus_R
Same issue here. The free Sony IP driver is working sporadically since OS3. I also want to upgrade to a 4K player and was thinking of the UBP-X500. Anybody know of an alternative with Control4 IP driver?
RAV
FYI. Sony officially ONLY supports the 1000 for IP control. They consider anything else a hack/non supported.
lippavisual
I have a 4K, X700 working at a clients house. No issues.
dinom
Any follow up to this? My X800 consistently stops working with the generic Sony IP driver. I’m thinking of switching to IR control instead.
LollerAgent
I have a X700 using the generic Sony IP driver (over wifi!) and it works fine.

dinom
Hmm so maybe it’s an X800 thing. It’s basically unusable since C4 control stops working after a day or so and I have to power cycle the unit to get it working over IP again. Even when IP doesn’t work, the Sony IR remote always works.
dinom
So I decided to purchase a used X1000ES from eBay. Hopefully control for that will be solid, but I’m wondering if I should connect via IP or serial. Anyone have experience with either on this unit? I have an IO Expanding sitting in my rack so serial control would be easy to hook up. Thanks.
