eggzlot
Ip drivers available? Same as the old generation or updated for the next box? thanks
chiAVguy
I used the same ip driver for my existing ATV 3 and it works fine. You’ll just have to make sure you set the IP to static and re pair the remote using the action button.
abovedeck
what is the neg of IP driver for this? Currently using gen 2 IR but bought new 4k and not sure if I should switch to IP.
sonic30101
I had a 4th gen for a short amount of time before ditching it. The IP driver is nice and responsive but did have issues with a sideloaded kodi app but that is not "supported" so its not like you can really expect that to be 100% otherwise IP is the way to go

Home Theater Advisors
We have had issues with some buttons not working in the odd app when using IP. We were told The ATV uses some buttons dynamically so there may be conflicts. When done over IR we haven't had an issue. The button that was most problematic was play
MakeItAMudLight
I'm using my existing IR driver with the new ATV 4K and it seems to be working fine other than the IR had to be place a little further to the left.
ifixbones
Just switched to ATV 4k and after re-assigning IP addresses ( I have 2 Apple TV's 4k) the current driver keeps stating: "error-not paired", device login failed. Please help

ifixbones
I've tried to no avail. It keeps telling me that there is an error, device not found!
ifixbones
I plugged the "old Apple TV" back and everything works fine. The driver immediately found the Apple device and I regained full control. However when I plug the new Apple TV back the same sequence happens: Attempting connection, then error, then device not found. I tried pairing it through the Apple TV menu to no avail. Any other tricks or shall I just have my dealer re-install the IP driver?
ifixbones
If anybody cares, I fixed it by downloading a fresh copy of the Apple IP driver.
