Other hardware - Meater - Meat thermometer

This product isn't integrated into C4, but it is something that I would recommend.

Meater is a wireless "smart" meat thermometer that interfaces with your phone via BT or wifi.  It looks like a metal stake about the size of a small pencil or large nail.  It is ideal for using on a rotisserie as other meat thermometers can't be used that way due to the cord.  I ordered mine on Kickstarter and shipping was over a year behind schedule but they started shipping the main product a few months ago.

They are thinking of building an API as well - it would be great to have a C4 driver so that you could get notifications/announcements when your food is ready.

If someone wrote one driver than it should be easy to adopt to other thermometers, depending on the temperature.  The Meater device gives you readings of meat temperature, ambient temperature, estimated time left, and cooking time so far.  Plus you get an alarm when it is time to take the meat off of the heat.

Stoker and gurus have the same functions but also a fan draft system to help keep the fire at your desired temp.  This is great for charcoal smokers like ceramic smokers (big green egg, primo, Kamado Joe etc) or insulates vertical smokers.

There are 101 devices such as these flooding the market.  Meater has a rough start going from Kickstarter to production but those who got an item did like it.
