coredyn
I have a Hikvision NVR system that I am trying to utilize the alarm out contacts into a controllers contacts. The NVR has one pair of outputs which I have confirmed are ground and normally open (NO). I have tried connecting to the controller on the contacts 12+ & SIG but it is unable to trip the sensor. Any thoughts on how I can acomplish this? My goal here is to be able to when line crossed or motion on security cameras is triggered I want an output from NVR into C4 so that I can have an announcement (already configured) and have any TV that is on display NVR (also configured but need the trigger). Currently I am using an IFTTT trigger to accomplish everything but it has about an 8-10+ sec delay which I would like to reduce if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated
sonic30101
Depending on the dvr model and driver there might be alarm out in the programming section. If not try a 12v external power supply, wiring the + to the 12v in on the controller, - to the ground of the dvr, then dvr out to controller signal input. Also you need to have a contact driver in the project bound to the controllers contact input
coredyn
Thanks Sonic, I have the contact setup and I wasn't sure if a 12v source would be needed. Ill have to give that a go.
Cyknight
Ground would go to ground, with NO going to SIG
coredyn
3 minutes ago, Cyknight said: That connection is a sensor INPUT - allowing the NVR to use an external sensor to trigger alarm recording (ie if security system is in alarm, trigger recording or higher quality recording) - not to allow the NVR to TRIGGER an alarm The NVR I have has 4 inputs and 1 output. I can set triggers on the NVR to activate alarm out under certain conditions. I can confirm when the alarm out is triggered it goes from normally open to closed. Cyknight
If that doesn't work you'll have to use an external relay (as in not a C4 relay!) - tie the NVR output to the relay to close it, then tie a C4 sensor to the relay using +12 and sig

Thomas Roscoe
Just bringing this back to the surface as ive just had this same problem over the past couple of days. And not really sure i found the answer online. Small brief Hikvision alarm out has 2 terminals "ground" and "1" Control4 io has "signal" and "+12x It would make sense to make a generic contact driver to the control4 io which can be triggered when alarm out is "alarmed" but like some mentioned above it just does not trigger in control4. Even after all the physical tests it just doesnt work. Anyways i found a solution. 2 core wire. (Alarm, cat, etc) 1 core into signal c4 io, 1 core into +12 c4. Then at the hikvision nvr. Twist the pairs together and insert both of them into "1". Everything should be 0 volt. And not had any problems with each of the equipment. Would love if anyone could shed light on why this works as its been driving me insane but i think this might help people solving the same problem with hikvision alarm out and control4 io Sorry for renewing an old thread but ive seen when ever new topics are made for old posts it always gets redirected.
