twmoonly
What is everyone's opinion on this? Zwave Hub and devices or Control 4 Zigbee products.
thegreatheed
ZigBee devices are more expensive and will be more reliable.
mallom
Stupid question: Could a Zigbee hub and standard zigbee products cause any Conflict/interference on C4 Zigbee devices? Just curious...

Ie VERA or Control4......Control4 will always work 'better' but vera would add additional options. Of course, you can alrady add at least SOME additional devices (read, new outlet modules, different voltage outlets and in-wall outlets) to C4 using the NATIVE ZWave.... HUE and others use ZigBee and C4 communicates via a bridge and it's fine...at least has been for me so far.

If you mean what zwave devices are out there that C4 doesn't natively support, hat's a long list - C4's supported ZWave devices is pretty minimal in fact. If you mean in general what devices can do Zwave that C4 doesn't have an option for - not that many, but zwave has a wider spread of manufacturers. Personally, I wouldn't recommend going Vera UNLESS you already have a lot of ZWave devices.
twmoonly
Thanks. I was really looking at the door locks. I have everything c4 native to this point.
Cyknight
In my experience, doorlock on ZWave are the WORST. Due to security concerns of the largely unprotected ZWave protocol, their range is super minimal, generally requiring you add them before installing, and then needing device in short hops between the controller "(vera) and the lock itself.
