Project Locked - Still?

8 posts in this topic

Running Composer and Director 2.1

I had assumed that the "Project Locked" error was resolved in 2.1, and that I could create a variable now without the help of my dealer.

Was I mistaken?

Thanks

D.

You tell me. Are you?

I haven't tried to use Composer HE to add a variable since upgrading to 2.1, and even then I think my PC has the one and only fix for this issue (if it still exists).

In the past if you had your dealer install and boot up Composer Pro on the system, then remove it, it fixed this problem. I would ask your dealer to do that.

Not all dealers will do this. I'm not going to select another dealer (and risk some deadbeat) just to get this feature back. Why Control4 doesn't just fix this damn problem I'll never know. Neter66 you are screwed unless you do what's posted above I guess.

Control4 has come out and said they are working on it, but are having a hard time nailing down the problem. Hopefully they will get it resolved soon.

^I probably have bitched the most about this but I still hold hope. I think this hits hard for those who recently installed systems and have no custom programming in place. I had enough of what I wanted to do (including variables) in place before the problem struck.

One thing to have your dealer check is for any pending upgrades for devices in your project, controllers, TP's, etc. This can cause your project to remain locked. Either have him get the device to complete the upgrade or cancel it.
