Email

Now that our controllers have a unique email address, is it possible for us to send our controllers email?

Before 2.0 emails came from a generic address, but they now include your controllers name and MAC address. If we could send our system emails and have it react based on programming that would be awesome!

Is that in the works? Why else would they change the way the emails are sent?

Edit: typo.

Note, my site has been moved to www.c4diy.com.  Most of my write-ups have been restored, and there are some new ones also.  I should have all the old ones restored soon.

There is a lot of fun new things planned that will be coming online soon, so stay tuned.

Re: Email

I doubt it.  There isn't any mechanism for the 4Sight servers to receive email, and there isn't any mechanism to deliver those emails to individual controllers or projects.

Not a bad idea, but there'd have to be a lot of additional plumbing and driver work before that sort of thing could work.

Re: Email

Yeah, I knew it would be a lot of work.  I was thinking about why they would change the email delivery like they did, and that stood out in my mind as a good reason why they might do this.

Here's to wishful thinking...
