I have 4:
- If a garage door is left open over 5 minutes
- If the pool house door opens
- If a barn door opens
(I have a 15 minute delay on the 2 above so I dont get a ton of emails)
- If a battery is low in a sensor

I use them to tell me if things happen while I am away primarily. I also have it setup so if my kids are outside playing, I can put it in that "mode" and if any of the gates or doors open it fires of a text message to me and my wife, as well as plays an announcement in the house.
Now that I am on 1.8 and higher I will probably use them more frequently (if I can get them working again: http://www.c4forums.com/viewtopic.php?id=6178) because I can now include a variable. I will use that to do temperature checks around my property (I have several card access units mounted around the outside monitoring my gates).

I use them for knowing when my kids get home from school
When traveling I know when my wife fell asleep on the couch, because the alarm arms itself
Reminder to take out the trash

I use both email, & text notification if the alarm system is going off...

My wife yells at me “Why you stocking me” ![]()
I have mine triggered on almost any event. Especially during the night.
-Door Locks
-Windows
-Motions
-Garage Door
-Side Doors
I personally like knowing when my kids leave or if someone comes to the house.

^I used to do that, but I got sick of it. Now I only have that stuff happen when we're out of town, or at night (for the most part).
Offline
all security status messages
door lock users
water sensors
carbon monoxide and lp gas sensors
snail mail box
when system reboots as in power outage
temperature max and low alerts as in hvac failure
i actually use them for a bunch of things., all emails forwarded as text to phone of course.

I use it to let me know when my house is on fire, but I have not tested it yet.

Is dogdvr really giving grammar lessons? We'll be able to have some fun with this...
I also use mine for water and smoke/Co2 sensors, although I haven't had to test those yet.
