Hello Everyone,

After months of planning and testing the day has finally arrived that the new c4Forums.com platform is finally here! With only about a month until the site's 8 year anniversary we couldn't be more excited!

With the old application there were a few major issues that we were constantly battling with. Here is a list of just some of the new features you will see right away.

Spam : Spam was our number 1 issue on the previous platform. Since this system is fully extensible, we have already integrated 3 separate web service spam checking apps that should practically eliminate and block spam postings with no manual intervention.

User Creation and Verification : Because of the spam we had to implement a manual new user creation and verification process. We began manual registrations less than 6 months ago, and have received over 1,000 requests for accounts and it has been very difficult to keep up. As of today we no longer have to manually create and verify user accounts!

Single Sign On / Registration from Google / Facebook / Twitter : You may have noticed already but for those who didn't, we have integrated the sites authentication system with Facebook, Google & Twitter. This works for both user registrations and to simply log in.

Mobile Interface : This new platform includes both a mobile interface and plugins to many of the 3rd party mobile forum apps. You can now easily interact with the site on your mobile device's browser or install an app like Tapatalk to have a native client.

User & Group Blogs : The new blogging system enables users to create and maintain their own individual or group blogs right from within c4Forums, to share ideas & thoughts about anything Control4 or Automation in a space you can control. Group collaboration blogs allows groups to share thoughts and updates by using the multiple editors feature.

Chat : The most immediate way of interacting with someone is chat, especially if there is an issue. We are excited to have this feature to see how everyone is going to utilize it. If you want to check it out simply click the chat button on the top of the screen.

Gallery : There is now an official photo gallery accessible to all members. This will allow users to upload photos of their projects, products, racks or just about anything you can think of. This gallery has a ton of features you can read more about them here

Downloads : Finally a real download manager! Now everyone can easily share drivers, documents, and projects as easy as sending an email.

There are really so many new features that this platform has. The previous software was the most advanced product available to us in 2005, and we feel this new platform will not only provide us right now with all modern features but continue to evolve in years to come.
