Night time programming

Im trying to program lights to come on only at night when a certian event happens. I would use variables correct? Would i use the scheduler with that also for my timing?

Sounds like you could use an "if" conditional

Night-time is built in if that's all you need time-wise. Night-time meaning between sun-down and sun-up

WHEN (event happens: motion trigger, door opens, turning on a TV)

IF time is night-time <--- you find this under scheduler actions

--turn on light/trigger lighting scene or whatever programming you're intending to do

I want to and im not sure if i can, use the yale touchscreen on my deadbolt lock to, if it is nighttime and the touchscreen is activated to turn the porch light on. also, when i leave the house and press a light switch to onlly turn on an outside flood light at night. stuff like that

There's no notification of when the touchscreen backlight is activated on the lock (Yale *or* Kwikset).

You have to actually lock or unlock the lock to get any notifications (and thus events in Control4).

Yup. You could still trigger that light on the lock/unlock however.

Beyond that the programming you are talking about can be done using the nighttime option as I described.
