There already is one on www.thedriverslab.com - but I know little of the company producing these drivers (I know you're lurking ;)) and am hesitant at this point to recommend - not helped by alerts from SiteAdvisor.

Want to be clear that while I do not recommend FOR them, neither do I recommend AGAINST.

Yeah which tells me absolutely nothing - which I've stated before (when it was - what? c4drivers.com?) here and elsewhere.

Again no offense to the guys involved -I wish them the best- but I'm ... hesitant to jump in and "sell" this stuff (ie advise my direct clients of it).

When I'm not nearly as swamped (and testing so many other new things already) I may try out some things to see how well it works, and who knows.

^I for one would give you a high-five for any kind of review on those. Some look pretty usable and to date, I have not been a 3rd party follower of anything other than Card Access (and their stuff hasn't lived a good life here either).

I have just purchased four of these, and I have to say I've had trouble authenticating them into my wireless network despite following some online troubleshooting

http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?rnId=7074

Forget consulting any manual that comes with the product (because there isn't one)

These are *not* as straight forward to set up as claimed.

The first found my network no problems, but the others? Forget it.

This product has a kind of weird network setup *without* the ability to browse onto the device to set up IP addresses etc. It all has to be done via the iPhone app. I also have no idea if the one and only initial Wemo I have networked, is fixed or DHCP, as I can't browse onto it even though I know it's IP from a network scan.

You'd think that once one is set up, the others would just network "daisy chain style" one after the other: and you'd be done. Well think again.

With 4 (if I eventually end up getting them all networked) I'll have 4 separate IP adresses taken up on my network. Not ideal.

Anyway my 2 cents so far.. :)

Thanks Wap - gives some good insight on the piece itself. Sounds not ideal indeed. Did you use the driver to incorporate them into C4?

Hi Cy..No

I can only get one networked.

The problem is it looks like I'll have to re-config my whole router to a non mixed security setting...(See troubleshoot link)

This then becomes quite a problem just to plug in a few GPO's !!!

Of course in an ideal world Control4 would have produced a Universal Zigbee pro version of a similar product to the Wemo. Zigbee pro has it's obvious advantages in this sort of wireless networked product. Then we users would all be happy and I could have ordered a few from my dealer.

Some of us have told C4 on the forum here for years there is a need for such a product..

Anyway. What the heck do I know.

Cheers. :)

Control4 have an outlet switch which has been available in the US since day 1. Unfortunately they never made it available to 240v countries and as such i've been looking for something like the WeMo. Still waiting for mine to arrive but the driver 80% complete.
