RyanE Posted January 8, 2013 Share Posted January 8, 2013 I think in addition to notifications, they could also provide energy usage 'at the source'.Not all types of wash cycles run for the same length or use the same amount of electricity, and different drying lengths also use different amounts of electricity.The other argument would probably be that you could schedule the wash to start at a 'low energy demand' time, which could be triggered (in theory) based on demand pricing signals received from the power company. i.e. instead of saying 'start my wash at midnight', you could say 'start my wash when low power is available'.I definitely agree that the usefulness of some of this functionality may be suspect for the price, but people like options, I suppose.RyanE Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
