mas0282 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hi guysI recently purchased a Card Access Wireless Contact Sensor (https://www.cardaccess-inc.com/automation/products/index.php?a=details&i=14) which I have mounted on the front door to my apartment. My dealer supplied the sensor and he has hooked it up to Control 4 using Composer Pro. It now shows as a contact sensor device. Here's the thing - I'm trying to programme it using Composer HE, but I cant for the life of me find the "when contact sensor state changes" event. The only events listed are to do with battery level, etc. I looked on the room itself to see if there was an option (like when you programme the SR250 remote) and there isn't an option there.Am I missing something? Or does my dealer need to do something else? I saw in a similar post that ILoveC4 mentioned that "You need to add a door driver, then bind the sensor to the door. Then program off the door opening/closing." Is that it? I need the dealer to install a door driver? And if so are those drivers free? Many thanks for any advice.
RyanE Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 The *contact* driver that is connected to the CardAccess is what you program against. In other words, it won't be the CA device, but the 'Door Contact Sensor' device, which is loaded into the project and connected to the CA device.Contacts work this way, because the contact input on the sensor could be a door, a window, a Zone Valve, etc., so events are exposed on the *contact* driver. It's the same for contacts on the Control4 controller.RyanE
mas0282 Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Thanks Ryan. I'm still a bit confused. Here is a screenshot of my programming screen: There is no "when contact state changes" event. I think what has happened is that my dealer has installed the CardAccess contact driver but then not added a generic door driver? Am I right in thinking that he needs to add this and then bind the CA sensor to the generic door driver? Thanks again for your help.

That way, you can program off of "when door closes" etc...There is also a general "contact" driver. He may need to add the contact driver and bind it to the contact, then bind the contact driver to the door. I haven't done it in a while, but he at least needs to what I put above...easy stuff and should just take a second.
mas0282 Posted January 15, 2013 Author Posted January 15, 2013 Thank you very much guys, I will talk to my dealer
