thecodeman
Just now getting into dimmable LEDS to replace some CFLs. Picked up 3 of these cree bulbs to use in a bathroom vanity fixture on a new Control4 forward phase dimmer. Dimming works well, however I noticed that anything below 95% gives of a faint buzz. Anyone else experiencing that? Didn't know if that was par for the course on these bulbs or if there was a setting I could change on the dimmer. Snaffle8
Only 3 LED's on 1 forward phase dimmer? Maybe you don't have enough load for that dimmer type. An adaptive dimmer may solve the problem. Almost every fixture in my home has a CREE LED and I have not experienced the humming, but all my dimmers are adaptive phase.
cdepaola
Yeah, missed the Forward Phase dimmer part. I also have the adaptive phase dimmer and all mine show up as Reverse Phase dimming, not forward phase. Maybe its the wrong dimmer type.
thecodeman
Good call guys, it was pretty late when I decided to swap it over and didn't think to check that load. I checked the spec sheet just now for the FPD and it says with a neutral (which I used) that the minimum is 4.5w. The CREEs add up to about 18w. I'll have to try an adaptive phase dimmer there. In the meantime I moved the dimmer to my living room where I added some incandescant can lights and it works a treat.
