Jaffacree
If a dimmer switch is blown, will the unit work at all? I have a three was switch that is wired correctly but will not dim or turn off, light just stays on, wondering if the dimmer is blown. Side note, when i first hooked it up, it worked fine, i accidently tripped the breaker, and now the dimmer doesnt turn off. In my experiance with these dimmers, if it is blown, it will not light up or work at all...am i correct?
RyanE
It depends on the failure mode of the device. It *is* possible to blow the triac on a dimmer, or to fuse the relay on a switch, and still have the unit operate (although it will not control the load at that point). RyanE
Also, there's no such thing as a "three-way switch" in Control4. There are ways to wire dimmers so that they act like traditional 3-way switches, but they're not *wired* as traditional 3-way switches. Jaffacree
Turns out, the part of the dimmer that controls the load was blown. The switch still functions, but only as a keypad
ILoveC4
I'd make sure and disconnect/cap the wire that powers the light, just in case. Sent from my Droid MAXX via Tapatalk.
