wappinghigh
It's now possible to stream pretty much every music format including DSD, up to 24/192 single and multichannel from a myriad of Media servers (I Use MinimServer running on a QNAP ) ... to many uPnP media renders. I use a Linn DS and an Oppo 105. The issue is finding suitable "Control point" software. My favourite ATM is PlugPlayer.. though I know there are others like BubbleuPnP, and Kinsky Of course there are others.. each have their pros and cons and some remain buggy etc.. In the same way the EV Linn Kinsky driver operates, are there any generic C4 drivers out there that control any of these other uPnP control point software? msgreenf
If you have a music bridge, you can stream music to it via uPnP and then it will play in your system
wappinghigh
Sure. But is this 24/192, stereo *and* multichannel and DSD .dsf and dff file compatible? The whole idea is to have hirez capable renders that you control with a piece of control point software. Sorry, but to be honest I don't have the faintest clue what the music bridge does? I'm already using Sonos for 16 bit and Pandora and Rhapsody. I'm wanting to control the other players for hirez streaming.. What does the music bridge have to offer (Confused) ? RyanE
What does the music bridge have to offer (Confused) ? I don't believe the Music Bridge supports uPnP, but I believe it does support DLNA hi-def audio, along with Bluetooth and AirPlay. This review is a pretty straightforward intro into what the Music Bridge has to offer: http://hometheaterreview.com/control4-wireless-music-bridge-reviewed/ Unfortunately, I don't have one, and haven't played much with one, so I don't have the first-hand experience to answer questions about it.
