eggzlot
As you can see on my previous post, I have a DSC alarm: http://www.c4forums.com/topic/14336-dsc-alarm-programming-having-trouble-with-scrolling-of-zones/ I was having trouble scrolling zones on the C4 touch screens, and it was quasi figured out that its likely older firmware on the DSC panel. So the thought, based on the recommendation from a tech at C4, to upgrade the panel to the PC 1864. I have an appt set up for this coming Friday with my alarm guy to put in the new panel. However my alarm guy called me last night with some information. My alarm guy (different from my installer) was on another call this week, and he was setting up the alarm on a brand new Crestron system. They had a new 1864 panel, the IT 100 and could not get the zone scrolling on the Crestron system. They called DSC, and DSC said "call Crestron, we do not support 3rd party system issues". Crestron did not provide much help, so the installer wrote a program (more options in Crestron to do extra programming) to get some sort of notification to work. So my alarm guy called me just as a warning, the 1864 + IT-100 did not work on a Crestron system, so he is not sure if it will work on my C4 system (yes different systems, I know, but he feels the IT-100 may not pass the zone info regardless of the home automation system). He said he has seen the Honeywell alarm work well on the C4 system. The problem is, I then I have to replace the panel AND 3 keypads (I have alarm keypads for emergency in case the C4 system is down). So the cost is more to go honeywell vs upgrading the DSC panel (my DSC keypads will work with the newer DSC panel). Any thoughts here? I got one shot to make this work - anyone have zone scrolling success with the 1864 + IT-100 module? I want to see my C4 touch screen and know if there are open zones and if so, the name of the zone (not a zone number). Thanks in advance.
eggzlot
Sorry to bump but maybe it got lost over the weekend. I need to book my alarm guy and he needs to order the parts, so just wanted to make sure I do this right - Anyone can confirm the PC 1864 with the IT-100 will allow for zone scrolling on the C4 touchscreen? Otherwise I might have to go Honeywell which will mean new panel along with new keypads AND getting my dealer to do some reprogramming at a cost. getting the new DSC panel will be more "plug and play" and cost effective, but if it does not work, its pointless. any thoughts? Cyknight
I'd love to say yes, but I'm out and about these days with no way to confirm it 100% visually as the 3 systems I'm working on are not yet at the alarm integration stage or use different panels. I certainly believe it does, but considering you're past issues I want to see it for myself again on that precise model before making that statement. eggzlot
Hi Cy, I hear ya, I am at a loss here too. Just hate to waste money, but I do have an email from a C4 tech telling me to get the 1864. If it does not work, I may have some recourse through my dealer and C4 because that is what C4 told me to do. I know that is wishful thinking and they likely would just say "sorry" if it does not work.
Bubben
Im using 1864 and IT-100, but I dont understand what you mean by scrolling zones. I have my zones representated by sensor-icons with labels set in composer. I could bypass a zone in my C4 keypad, but I havent labeled them something other than default. eggzlot
Hi bubbenSimple example....front door is open which is zone 01. My C4 touchscreen says zone 01 is open. I want it to say front door is open. 16 zones and I do not remember them all so it's helpful when I want to see what zone is openThanks.
Bubben
Here is how my MyHome-app looks like when I display all my sensors:The weird looking labels makes sense in swedish...From this view I have no problem to see what Doors or IR-sensors that is tripped. Is this what you are trying to do?
eggzlot
I only see doors (front and basement and garage doors) under motion and sensors and those icons are to open and close the doors; nothing with the alarm. I am talking about in the actual "keypad" screen if you went to type in your code or press "stay" or "away". If a zone is open that screen would tell you. Mine just says what zone number is open; not a name for the zone. I do get text messages if the alarm trips and it will give me the name if a zone, not the zone number. I have a DSC alarm with the IT-100 and didnt know seeing zone names in the C4 Keypad screen was possible. Are you sure that this isnt a limitation of the driver? HouseLogix
https://www.houselogix.com/products/hsim-security-adapter.asp Essentially, the HSIM acts as a regular keypad on the panel and would receive any message that a keypad would. Additionally, we offer a feature called Zone Name Replacement in our driver that can modify the output of a panel. You can take an off the shelf panel that simply states "FAULT 001 ZONE 001" and in Composer change zone 1 to instead show as "FAULT Family Room Motion". -Jim Sparkman
