C4NYnewbie
I posted this on another thread but I'll do the same here because I don't know if it falls under troubleshooting or hardware. Hello all. My first post so hopefully I can provide what's needed to get a healthy response. I recently set up a C4 system in my home and decided to go with the Adaptive Phase Dimmers as a my choice of lighting control. I'm using mr16 LED bulbs. The brand is Sorra which is a fairly high end LED bulb used in showroom lighting with a CRI of 95. For one reason or another, they don't appear to be working well with the C4 APD. While dimming, some of bulbs make a humming noise, pretty audible, at certain points. In certain rooms the bulbs burn out all together. I already changed 6 bulbs which should not be the case with brand new LED lights. And most recently, the dimmers froze on me requiring the dimmers to be replaced. I can't tell if there is an electric issue or if there is a compatibility issue or if the dimers themselves are just cheaply made. Can anyone tell me if these LED's are compatible with C4 APD's? Is there a list of compatible LED's that work with C4? Or do I need to change to halogens all together to get the C4 lighting option to work? http://www.soraa.com.../specs-GU5.3-US
turls
LED lights are tricky, some work well and some don't. Did you go through a dealer when configuring your lighting? Have you searched through threads here because there is lots of discussion on what has worked and not worked, but I don't remember that specific brand being mentioned. You aren't going to find a nice list of C4 compatible LED bulbs.
Cyknight
Mhh there's a small list of bulbs but so limited yet that it's not worth much. It's POSSIBLE the APD units have detected the wrong load type or unable o detect at all. Have your dealer check and apply a patch/update before trying more bulbs

Cyknight
Based on the bulb's own capability you would set minimum on levels etc per dimmer, but that's about it.Beyond that there is forward and reverse phase, which the APD unit should set itself, but that affects little (if correct). Matt
You need to check if the transformer driving the MR16 LED Soraa bulbs is supported by Soraa. You can check that info here: http://www.soraa.com/resources/compatibility What type of transformer is this, ELV or MLV? Matt
