hollytank
Hopefully somebody will be able to point a Control4 newcomer in the right direction. I have recently had a Control4 system installed in my house which I am very satisfied with unfortunately though when I came to set up the cinema amp for the main TV room I hit a bit of a hurdle. The instructions for the Yamaha assume that the amp is connected directly to the TV but in my case it sits on the other side of a HC-800. So my problem is that the installations screens that would normally appear on the TV to guide me through the process are not there. Any help from someone who has managed to work through this or a simialr problem would be really appreciated so that I can get the best out of the amp. mstafford388
What do you mean on the other side of an HC-800? Are you running your sources through the receiver? Normally you would feed the HC800/cable boxes/blu ray into the receiver, then one video feed from the receiver to the TV.

rhall42
I have a Yamaha RX-V863 and it was a pain to setup.. the C4 driver is whacked... not well done at all.. the bulk of the C4 driver seems to focus on surround mode management and not much else and the receiver control is unpredictable. I redid the driver and have it somewhat functional but still not really pleased.. It seems to involve a creating a lot of macros to make things work.. a very slow work in progress as I get time and ambition. Anyone else have better results?? mstafford388
We use yamaha receivers all the time without any issues from control4 drivers. We are really only using their Aventage line with IP drivers though. Without checking I'm not sure if there are IP drviers available for that receiver. If there is I'd use it.
